Specialties
In its simplest form, compersion can be described as witnessing another's joy and experiencing your own joy in response. Happiness from someone else's happiness. We work with people across the beautifully diverse spectrum of gender, sexuality, nationality, age, shape, and size who want to feel like the extraordinary individuals they truly are. It is our goal to show you that you are beautiful, powerful, and unique. Allowing us to capture your special moments (from your wedding day, to boudour, and even your family portraits) will give you beautiful memories you can look back on for years to come.
You are a wonderfully unique individual.
We can't wait to show you.
History
Established in 2007.
It's true that technology is advancing fast, and we all have cameras these days. However, simply owning a camera and knowing how to line up a shot and click the shutter doesn't make someone a professional photographer. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that people often don't see. That includes countless hours studying courses, reading guides, practicing the craft in and out of the studio with different lighting conditions, learning editing software, and let's not forget all of the years of practice simply zeroing in on one's own style. Investing your time and money in Capturing Compersion Photography means that you are trusting your image to an artist with over fifteen years of experience on both sides of the camera lens.
Meet the Business Owner: Amanda A.
Often times you may see me around town snapping photos of birds and flowers, when I don't have a client wanting portraits, or a local event to photograph.
Nature is my preferred backdrop, but I am also extremely lucky to have a studio in my historic Gothic Victorian home, along with being able to shoot in many of the other historic homes around Allegan, thanks to my wonderful friends who own them. I also have access to a 40 acre farm and woodland area in Otsego, and another in Plainwell. Not to mention all of the fun we can have exploring all the hidden gems of downtown Allegan and the surrounding area. I also love traveling to my clients and working in their own space.
When I'm not photographing or writing, I am spending time with my wonderfully supportive family. We enjoy walking around town, going camping, playing music, and going to fun events. Without my husband and partners, our children, our pets, and our friends, life certainly wouldn't be as full and enjoyable as it is.
