Sticky Toffee Pudding is excellent, I asked for a second scoop to get my preferred pudding to ice cream ratio. Arrive early or book a table well in advance. We got lucky with bar seating both nights. Dog friendly, which was so great, even though we are not dog owners. Looking forward to going back again the next time we visit.

I went for the steak and ale pie. The gravy was thick and tasty with the flavour of the ale. The beef so tender it just melted in the mouth. The pastry, to die for. And the chips were the old fashioned chunky type. I would say, the BEST steak and ale I have ever had. So if you are ever in that region, make the trip to Pooley Bridge and you will not be disappointed.

And the basin is inset into a rotting wooden countertop - come on, Mill Inn, how much would an off-cut of worktop cost? Whether you want a gentle stroll or a full-on fell walk, this is the ideal spot. Would I go again? Definitely!
