I have been the bus driver for LWR after school and summer camp programs for 2 1/2 years. In my very long career of driving school buses, and being a counselor for summer camps, I feel that I need to let the public know what a fantastic program that Capo Kids has to offer. The teachers and counselors are the most attentive and responsible people I have ever worked with. They really care about the children and the children love this school. It's a very disciplined environment, but at the same time it is so much fun for them. I feel one of the best things about CapoKids is the positive and encouraging attitude that everyone has with the kids. It truly builds a foundation for them for the rest of their lives. Wherever we take them on field trips, which is everyday in the summer, we are always complimented as to how well they are behaved. We go to places that have many, many children all the time and we are always told we are the best camp! I felt a need to write this review after I read a bad review that just was not true. None of it! I am retired and could work anywhere I choose to. I choose to work for CapoKids because of the way the kids are treated and taught by all the people that work there. It really is the best place for kids that I have ever seen and I have seen a lot. If it wasn't like have described, I would not work here. I have been playing Capoeira with the Volta Au Mundo Academy since 2009. I fell in love with the family that runs the academy and the warm welcomes I received since day one. They feel like a family and treat everyone with such respect. Since training, I have learned discipline that transfers to my own life, getting fit and doing things I never thought I could keep doing in my 30's. I played all through my pregnancy and my son now attends Capokids preschool. I am thrilled to have him here being taught by a stellar staff and studying Capoeira under Ms. Nina. At only 3 years old, he walks into class himself, sits down and joins in. He receives such a diverse learning palette from a creative curriculum to capoeira to music, portuguese all while understanding respect, discipline and having fun while doing it! He is SO happy when he returns each day which is not the experience I have had at other preschools. I would recommend this unique preschool to anyone. And, no my child does not come home hitting or martial art sing people. A big piece of the preschool is to teach capoeira in a non aggressive way, more as a tool and talent to be fostered. read more

This is an absolutely amazing school. Their VPK program is top notch. My 4 year old son has learned so much and adores his teachers, with the added benefit of learning the discipline and confidence that come with training in Capoeira. My daughter goes to their after school program as well and loves it as well, she's learned a whole new level of confidence as she learns the music, the martial art and the history of Capoeira. As stated by another parent, they are also taught that Capoeira is not used on another person, it is called "playing" Capoeira for a reason and the children learn that so well. I'm so proud to have CapoKids. As a side note, the adult program is awesome too, I started going after seeing how great it was for the children and it's like being brought into the fold of an enormous family. Between the kids and myself, I couldn't possibly be happier with the love and absolute dedication that each of the teachers show every day. It's great for both CapoKids and CapoParents alike. Unless you experience Capo kids you can never understand! The patience and love from the staff for my son is amazing! Capo kids is not their job it is their life, and it shows everyday! My son has learned patience, respect for others, how to handle emotions in my opinion 3 of the hardest things for a child to learn! When I drop my son off at Capo, I am able to focus on my day and know he is loved, and very well taken care of! Capo kids is not just our preschool it is our family. My only regret and struggle with Capo kids is the fact they do not teach kindergarten through high school! If you want to know your kids are safe, happy, educated, and loved...... I was in search of a preschool for my son age 3. I wanted something more then your average preschool. Something unique, cultural, with a warm nurturing environment, that also taught respect and the standard requirements for kindergarten. Capokids was exactly what I was looking for. My son who is now in kindergarten had the most amazing preschool and vpk experience and now attends the after-school program. My older child also attends the after-school program and I myself am learning capoeira. That's right Capokids pre-school also offers adult classes. I highly recommend Capokids! Capokids is AWESOME!! We have been a part of the Capokids family for almost five years now...and it is just that Family! All the instructors are so great with the kids, many of them were once Capokids themselves. They always make a point to say hi to our boys if we run into them outside the academy. Our oldest son was incredibly shy when he started and now he is a confident and outgoing kid. If you are looking for an aftercare program or preschool definitely check them out. My only negative comment would be that we see more of our boys' feet than their faces....they always seem to be walking on their hands or doing some sort of a flip. read more

I'm so glad and relieved that my son spends all day, every day at a warm, positive place. The teachers are so kind and loving. They not only received 100% for their first year of doing VPK, but the teachers really care about the children's well being. I love the physical fitness, music, the fact that my child knows Portuguese, and that they teach kindness and respect. There is no other place that I would want my child to be. Being a full time working parent is very hard, when you have a child. It's so comforting to know that my child is in such a positive place. read more

Capokids is the best place for any kid to learn. My son has been doing capoeira for 2 years he started at the age of 3, he is 5 years old now and he loves it. Teachers at Capokids are awesome, the learning program they have is awesome. I highly recommend Capokids school of capoeira. Among the things they learn are agility, self confidence, respect and friendship. They also teach kids to play instruments and sing as well as portuguese language. I've been doing the after-school program and camps since I was 5 years old, that's a whopping 19 years! Once I reached middle school I was able to be a counselor in training just like many other children who have been in the program since they were young.
