I was in the market for a vehicle and looked into various auto loan interest rates. My dad told me about Shell FCU because they advertise it on 740 KTRH (am radio). I called two other credit unions before deciding on Shell FCU. They had the best rates. I looked up the nearest location to the dealership and found this Wilson Rd. branch. I walked right in, checked in with the friendly receptionist and told her I wanted to be a member and apply for an auto loan. You have to live or work in Harris County and open an account (can be as little as $5 for a savings account) to be a member. She asked for two forms of ID which can be your driver's license and a major credit card with your name. She checked me in, and I waited in the waiting area. There's a TV that shows where you are in line. Since I was at the dealership for hours, it was nice to see that they made fresh popcorn. When I was a kid, my parents used to bank somewhere that also served popcorn. It was nostalgic, not to mention, tasty. I think they have popcorn on Fridays. Aside from that, there's a coffee/hot chocolate maker. I came in about 45 minutes before closing. I was not rushed at all. Madison, the Branch Lead, was so personable and patient. She took her time to obtain all the information needed and was thorough to make sure the underwriters reviewing the auto loan information had everything they needed. Since she wasn't going to be in the next day, she had an associate, Luz, who would assist me. After I completed the auto loan, Madison walked me to the teller to make a deposit. The receptionist unlocked the doors for us when leaving. I returned the next day to meet with Luz to finalize the auto loan. Luz answered all my emails in a timely manner in the morning before I got there and also contacted the dealership for additional info on my behalf. She was also friendly and explained to me what the costs would be when I asked about gap and extended warranty. Shell FCU has the best rates. I wish this branch was closer to where I live or the staff worked in the Spring location because all of the staff are friendly and helpful. It was such a seamless process. I would go out of my way off the beltway just for their excellent customer service.

There are two atms here: one outside at the drive thru and one inside the lobby. Be aware that the atm now uses the chip reader and has you leave your card inside the atm scanner until your about to receive your cash (if that's your purpose for using the atm). Other than adjusting the new chip reader atm, this is not a bad location to stop at, but drive slow. People tend to get excited or are mad after leaving the bank or from the adjacent Starbucks and don't know how to drive. They'll back up without looking, swoop into the parking lot off the road, and don't make themselves aware of their surroundings.

This morning the bank manager Oscar wouldn't get on the phone to speak with me. He had Sandra to call me back. I explained to her I've been on a leave from work because of the death of my mom. I have no money no food and have bills to pay. I have my 6 year old granddaughter living with me. Check the cameras, audit the machine. I need my money. Oscar says it's too cold to check the machine now I have to wait until Monday. This is driving me crazy I can't believe this is happening. No help! No compassion! And the bank manager wouldn't even talk to me.
