I've been going to Dr. Hussain for over 10 years. She's great. When MedStar took over, several things changed. Getting an appointment is near impossible, unless you're willing to wait months. More recently I've experienced problems getting my birth control Rx refilled. In theory I should be good for a year to have my pill Rx auto refilled every three months. The last couple of times I've been to the pharmacy I'm told that I am out of refills. It then takes several attempts to contact the doctor's office and have them correct it. It's unfortunate, because the doctors are amazing and the system is a disaster. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Ampey for over ten years. She is wonderful, however multiple members of the front desk staff are rude and insensitive (this has been the case for the past 5+ years). When you walk in for an appointment, you can expect to wait for them to finish a personal conversation before they will even acknowledge your presense. Over the phone they are just as rude and even condensending. These are not isolated incidents. I opted out of a HMO plan to keep Dr. Ampey as my OB/GYN, but everytime I must encounter one of these people I regret my decision. This is a medical office. The doctors are wonderful. Why is it that their help is so awful at customer service that it turns people off? It's about time they are replaced with nice, decent people with expecience in customer service, just as any business would. read more

Can I give 0 stars? Have seen Dr. Ampey for many years. She was great, but staff was pretty incompetent. Birth control refills should have been a snap, but no, it would usually take multiple calls to office to get mail order refill completed. Then, Dr. Ampey left the practice, started seeing Dr. Kim Freeman. She actually did a small surgery for me, all was great. Then she left the practice, after being there just a short time! Last I saw Dr. Tellawai, who seemed good, but again, trying to get a refill is like pulling teeth! They are unresponsive, shut the phones off at 4:15pm, and when you try to speak to medical assistant, you must leave a message - no live person. Why are all the doctors leaving this practice? Why is staffing so bad! Will be looking up Dr. Ampey's new practice - she is in Olney 1 day a week! read more

Everyone was wonderful. The girl at the front desk, the girl who did my intake, and the doctor. Women who are afraid of going to a male gynecologist should fear no more. They have women here too, but you'll have to make an appointment a month in advance. I only had to wait 3 days to see a man. I'm so happy I found this office. read more

I was a patient of Captial OBGYN for 15 years at least. Dr. Goodman cared for me through two pregnancies, he always took the time to make sure any questions were answered and you never felt rushed. I felt so comfortable there I continued to drive 30 minutes for appointments when I moved to the next town. Last year when it was time for my annual I found that they had become MedStar. The first difference- I had to wait two months for an appointment. In all my years of going there I never had to wait that long- maybe a week tops. I also was unable to see Goodman in any reasonable amount of time, so my option was a female physician newer to the group (I don't even remember her name, she was that unremarkable). Not even close to the same kind of experience. The woman who was always at the front desk- gone. (She was super friendly and awesome) I felt like just a check off of the list, the doctor seemed like she was annoyed to even be there. I also found out that Dr. Goodman was retiring, so once all of that went down it made it easy to switch. It's a shame because it looks like it's not even the same practice at all anymore. All of the Captial OBGYN doctors aren't even there anymore. read more

I had been a patient here for 15 years. My sisters and I were all delivered by doctors here. My mom and aunt have been patients since they were in their 20s. Talking to someone or making an appointment usually required being put on hold for 5 minutes, but then you talked to someone and your questions were answered. Dr. Hussain is wonderful and always straight forward. The practice recently joined MedStar Georgetown and now I'm finding a new doctor. The amount of time you have to wait to make an appointment or to actually talk to a real person is absurd. I don't have an hour to waste when I need to contact my doctor. The last time I called i collectively waited for over an hour to finally speak to someone. I was told my prescription was called in and when I went to pick it up that night it wasn't. I have called twice now asking for my records to be sent. I've been transferred to a voicemail, left a message asking for my records to be sent and to call me to confirm they are. I have heard nothing. I just made an appointment with a new doctor that was recommended by a friend. Only 3 minutes on hold before I talked to someone. Capital OBGYN made a huge mistake joining MedStar Georgetown. If you don't mind all the BS you have to go through to see a doctor then I recommend Dr. Hussain - I just don't have that kind of time to waste. So frustrating. read more

This practice used to be a great OB GYN practice. I've been with Dr. Tuegel for 33 years. The practice was purchased by Capital and it was still a good practice with nice staff. Now that Medstar Georgetown is running the show it has fallen to a place that I no longer want to be associated with as a patient. They don't answer the phone, the staffs attention to detail is missing which leaves the doctors out in limbo with no information. I have had trouble getting my prescriptions refilled. My pharmacy has had to re-fax the requests at least 2 times and I have had to spend valuable work time following up with no success. I have called the after hours answering service and the person answering told me that she has had many complaints about Medstar OB GYN. MedStar better wise up or patients will be exiting in masses. read more

I'm so sad to be writing this bad review. But I am in the same boat as the others. This practice switched to MedStar and is now terrible! I am a patient of Dr. Ampey who I love. I love all the doctors in Olney. Too bad I can't see them anymore. I too sat on hold for a very long time and the next available appt in Olney is in mid-August. This never used to happen. In fact, Dr. Ampey used to squeeze me in during weird hours if necessary. I feel compelled to find a new OBGYN. Its such a shame. read more

THIS PLACE IS GARBAGE. I went in asking for a chlamydia check and they put in for a yeast infection. I had to call so many times for answers. It only took me crying and screaming for them to actually put in the test that I asked for. They told me to call the next Monday to get my results that I had been waiting for for 2 weeks. When I called, they're 'system' was down. What does that even mean? How do you run a business? How do you stay open? I will NEVER go back. read more

Be forewarned, MedStar has taken over what was once an exceptional practice. Now it's simply a cattle call. Dr. Goodman has been my GYN for over 15 years and I love him to death!! He is the best. But he's retiring so the decision to get out of this group is easy! The front staff = rude. The girl at sign in asked me to sign some papers, so I looked for a pen. Finally, she said "flower" - that's the only word she said. I thought she was talking to someone else. Little did I realize that the bouquet of flowers on the counter were actually pens! She was very inconsiderate and rude. For the last two days, I've left several messages and faxed a request twice, to get a replacement scrip. You cannot actually talk to a person - it's a recording that says they'll get back to you in 2 business days. Glad I'm not pregnant!!! I called the appointment desk to see if they could forward me to a live person. Instead, she passed me back into that recording. I still haven't heard from anyone!! And at this point I don't care to hear from them. I was able to solve the problem with my GP on whose phone I can leave a message and he or his staff will get back to me within a couple of hours - not days. I was willing to overlook that rude person at the front desk but getting no response after 2 days is definitely unacceptable. If you're reading this review to decide if you want to make an appointment with this group - DON'T. Find another practice that isn't associated with MedStar - you will be much happier and satisfied. read more

I was going to see Dr. Tuegal for some time, and I absolutely loved him. It has been about a year since I went back, as I just got busy and didn't get a chance to go back. I have been having my pharmacy request refills automatically for a long time now, and so when I requested that I get a new refill on Aug 1st, I figured it would continue as it has. However, I received a call from Capital OBGYN on Aug 5th stating that they could not "find my file" and that it "wasn't in the system." The young lady mentioned that they had just switched over to a new system, but that it should have everything from the last two years in there. She said she would look for the physical file, and to expect the pharmacy to have information for the refill by Friday Aug 7th. That was the last time I have spoken to a person in this office. Since then, my pharmacy has called them four times, as have I, and only gotten the answering machine every single time. No matter what time of day, I cannot get through to a person. I have left multiple messages, and haven't heard a thing. I am moving across the country in a month, so all I need is one more refill on my BC, and then I'll find a new OBGYN out there. I guess I'll have to find a stopgap until I go, because I will never want to deal with this office again. Fortunately, Dr. Tuegal retired in June, so I don't feel bad about leaving his office - he was such a great doctor. read more
