As this keyboard is price controlled nothing was to be gained by an online purchase and in fact much was to be gained by purchasing from a local brick and mortar business. The folks at Welch were very friendly and accommodating and answered my questions on this complex keyboard admirably. I ended up walking out with the MODX8 and am happy to know I have a local knowledge source for future questions or needed support.

Great time, and they were so patient. Bought used clarinet and a sax from them. Went back for school music books (cheaper) and a lost screw cost me $5 . Always great service!!! And for the yelp reviewer that gave them a one star. I think you should get a one star for not paying your bill. You have a legal binding contract. Good for Blue Ridder for not being a push over by those that want something for free!

In any case, I've always come away irritated and disappointed. Without exception, my interactions with the manager (who seems to be the only one to staff the shop's counter) have been less than fulfilling. It seems as if he goes out of his way to display how much he knows and how much you don't know. So much so that I made an expensive trip to Portland to look for a new violin rather than give them my business. I've heard that there are members of their staff that know their business. And I've also heard other customers say they don't take offense at their treatment there, so it may be that I just don't "gel" with the manager. But, I can't see going back. A real shame since I would LOVE to give them my business. But I won't frequent a place that seems to go out of it's way to sell it's own superiority.
