Our way back in and they are both harassing us about our age and what grade we are in very aggressively. I kept walking to avoid conflict and one of the instructors yelled to the top of her lungs, Hey she's speaking to you! I then asked if there was In issue and she continued to Harass me about what grad and age I was. I walked away of course because I'm 27 and pay to use the facilities. I'm also clearly bi-racial, I have two tattoos and my swimsuit was more than appropriate. I have no idea why we were attacked, it was more than inappropriate for two employees of this facility to do this. I'll most likely never return

I wish I could give a better review of the Lake Anna YMCA. My husband started working at this…read morelocation last year and it was through a program in Akron for Ohioans with Disabilities. During his one day of employment here, one of the customers decided to make fun of my husband. My husband suffers from Schizoaffective and Bipolar disorder as well as PTSD. It was hard enough for him to just show up and walk through the doors without being picked on. The older gentleman that made rude comments basically called my husband stupid because the man thought he needed help washing the windows. The man that was with my husband was from Ohioans with Disabilities and he was only there as moral support. This older man said, "is it really that hard to wash windows that you need someone to hold your hand while you do it? That's pathetic." Nobody stood up for my husband and he left immediately full of shame and regret. He felt less than as if he did something wrong. It is sad that you cannot even have a safe haven at your local YMCA. It is not the YMCA's fault this man said those nasty things, but nobody made him feel safe after. There were a few employees standing around that did nothing. What has this world become where we just blindly judge another human being? To the man the was rude... I wish I could give you just one day in my husband's shoes. He forgave you almost immediately, I am not so forgiving. Shame on you and the people that witnessed this injustice. Mob mentality at its finest. I fully believe in Karma. What you put out comes back to you 3-fold.

Many of the teachers who were there when my now five-year-old started as a baby are still there now taking care of my three-year-old. They did a great job keeping everyone safe during the pandemic and managed to close for only two and a half months. It has all the convenience of a corporate daycare center, but has a tight-knit family vibe, which is nice. Probably the biggest con is that they don't provide lunch, so we have to pack their lunches every day. They do provide breakfast and an afternoon snack, though. You can tell the teachers genuinely love and care for the kids. My daughter had some behavioral issues when she was three, and they were so patient with her and worked with her and us to get her through it, which I really appreciate. My daughter will be going there a few days a week this summer, and they have fun field trips planned three days a week for the school-aged kids. Next year will be my son's last year there full-time, and I'm genuinely bummed about it!

Canton Montessori is an amazing school, with excellent leadership and a fantastic collection of…read moreteachers and staff. Our youngest started there mid-year, after having a rough time at another school. Not only did his issues at school disappear in the first couple of days, but he LOVES CMS. How many 4 or 5 year olds do you know that literally run into school every morning? He is one of them, although we do less running now, because the school has helped build his confidence and sense of personal responsibility to the degree that we now "car-line" most mornings. CMS isn't afraid to give the students as much information as the student feels like they can handle. A couple of weeks after starting at CMS, our youngest broke into an explanation of the political conflict that led to the pilgrims leaving England, of the dangers of the voyage on the Mayflower and the challenges they faced when they got to North America (including a sidebar to explain some of the difficulties native Americans faced with their new neighbors). Another dinner conversation was about the decomposition (his word) of leaves in the fall, and what effect that has on the larger ecosystem. This is nearly every day; but he never complains about being forced to learn, instead each subject is brought up brimming with curiosity. And the teachers... we love them. We had our first "parent-teacher" conference, and our son's teacher not only explained in general terms where he was academically, but actually had copied notes and progress reports for each area of study and spoke fluently about his specific challenges and achievements (down to letters he needed practice on, and examples of his improved writing). If you are at all local, you should consider this school for your children; there are few places on the planet more dedicated to your young people than here.

Just a little over two months ago my son started at Once Upon a Daycare (right behind Jersey's) in green and I cannot tell you the night and day difference I have seen with him. While atkas is only 2, he has shown many milestone delays, especially with speech, as well as showing several austisic traits. With all of that said-- Miss Rosie has such incredible knowledge with the extra help that he has needed and I have found myself able to breathe a little bit again. I cannot say great enough things about finding this place and Miss Rosie-- but if you're looking for an affordable, helpful, fun place for your kid to go I highly recommend Once Upon a Daycare!
