I looooove this…read more Longer version (for the brave) - while wandering around the street of Stuttgart we met our friends who just ate, so we needed something quick and filling... I've decided to get a döner, usually it's my last resort, even then I'll probably get halloumi or something. Gotta tell you - so happy we went in this place! They had two kinds of kebap - but I'm gonna focus on the self made beef one which was absolutely spectacular! I've tried lamb, chicken and turkey before back home but this was totally new to me, and I loved every single bite. Juicy, well seasoned and a nice portion was put in our pitas :) The place is very clean and located on marktstr. The lady over there was nice and I've asked her to put everything inside except onions and tomatoes, not sure what was inside besides but it all blended really good. My friend loved it so much that he wanted to order another one but they already served out the last portions. To be honest? If I wasn't full, would have order another one. Can't wait to swing by again!

There is always a line and I had to see why so many people wanted to eat here. My best guess is that is is just in a good location. Second - the portions. Small portions compared to the other Doner's in the area. And third - the quality. The taste is ok but it's covered in scharf spice so my shoe would taste ok with that stuff on it. What concerned me the most was watching the shave the beef off the roaster. He was trying to keep up with the customers and he was cutting meat that wasn't even close to being cooked. I saw one lady make him give her another plate with cooked meat. My advice - if you have time to walk a couple blocks in any direction do it and find another Doner.

I…read morewanted to go to a place that neither of us had been to, and in a city -- country, really -- of sausages, kababs and faux-Chinese noodles, Ethiopian food definitely stood out as an interesting option. Restaurant Äquator's Yelp reviews boasted high ratings and were in German, which told me that this was a favorite with locals. The restaurant had a nice ambience and had a consistent stream of clientele through the course of our dinner, even though it was on the quiet, mellow side. The owner -- I wish I had asked for his name -- was kind and took time to make suggestions. My friend and I had the sense that he was going to look after us quiet well. Based on his recommendation, we got the sample platter for two consisting of veggies and meat. I'm not exactly an expert of African cuisine but I believe I've had some great, authentic Ethiopian food due to the fact that there's a concentrated Ethiopian neighborhood in Los Angeles, where I'm from. Our meal at Aquator was excellent and comparable to what I've experienced in the past. To top off our meal, the owner served us complimentary digestifs. What a pleasant surprise! I'm not sure that this is a part of the normal service but I do believe it's an extension of the care with which they serve all their patrons. I'm already back in London but my friend was so impressed with the food and the service that she will be going back soon with her husband. I would be a third wheel to their party of two in a heartbeat if I was still in town!
