This was the first public school in Saint Lucie County. This area was originally known as Fort Pierce Farms but it was given the name Indrio by Alice Stead Binney. Alice's husband was Edwin Binney, the inventor of Crayola Crayons. Alice took the first three letters from Indian and added the Spanish rio meaning river. Today the schoolhouse was closed but it can be rented for private events such as dances, parties, and weddings. In addition to the historic school this park has a playground designed for children ages 2-12, picnic tables with grills, and a restroom. There is a large natural area for play, walks, or bird watching. On the weekends there are food trucks. The trees provide shade and beauty to this rustic park.

It literally gives many of the private courses in the area a run for its money. Greens fees for 18 holes are affordable; if you are from out of town 18 holes can run you around $135 with a cart, but the premium is totally worth it! I believe if you are a county resident you receive a pretty good discounted rate. Nonetheless, they are in the midst of building a new clubhouse, and have completely renovated most of the course. The tee boxes are OK for a municipal, but the fairways and greens are epic! The greens roll true, and it's a fun Florida dune style course. I had a great experience and a pleasurable round. I see it possibly becoming the premier public course in the State of Florida.

It is open daily from 7AM until sunset and lifeguards are on duty from 9:10 AM until 4:50 PM. Beach Bites, a deli, convenience store, and beach sport rental business is located next to the parking lot. Park amenities include a restroom, boardwalk, pavilions with picnic tables and grills, a bike rack and showers. There is ADA beach access. This park is ideal for fishing, surfing, scuba diving, sunbathing, and picnicking. This beach is also an important sea turtle nesting area from March 1-October 31. While this beach is popular with surfers and snorkelers it is also a favorite of treasure seekers. In 2015 the Queens Jewels, a Spanish shipwreck from the 1715 Treasure Fleet was discovered six feet off the coast. Three hundred and fifty gold coins valued at $4.5 million were recovered.
