We supposedly live too close to the school for a bus, but don't always have crossing guards or make sure sidewalks are shoveled during winter months. My son has had a crappy education since he started in kindergarten, and every teacher we've encountered has passed the buck saying that the teacher before him didn't get him where he was supposed to be...but when asked if there was anything I should be doing at home I was told to stick my kid in front of a computer to memorize the questions for the tests he needs to pass in order to move up to the next grade level. My second grader rarely ever does anything physical, they usually have movies or pep rallies during his gym period, or they're allowed to play on computers during recess time, which leads to a very distracted child! I could go on and on about the lack of organization or attention to detail when it comes to the parking lots, or the class sizes and not being able to be more attentive to the students that need just a bit more help, and if I wasn't made to feel stupid any time I have a question, I'd love to get my son involved in the tutoring program. Although I don't know what good it would do with the K-2 building in a state of emergency. Please do yourself a favor and enroll your kids into a private school if you can, I will be homeschooling mine next year, and I honestly wish I would have done it sooner.

With that said why do every school counselor in this district always have an excuse on why they don't call a parent back or do what they say and it's fine. But don't you as the parent have an excuse as you will be executed! If the counselors are too overwhelmed to handle the children effectively than hire more cut elsewhere like administration levels on stupid wasted jobs! Our children are more important than having another administrator do nothing and get paid 70,000 plus benefits!! Lets go Austintown get a clue!! If I hear one more teacher, counselor, principal, superintendent from this district tell me things are crazy there and they are so busy to take 5 minutes out of their day to call a concerned parent back. Than they DO NOT deserve my tax dollars to one of my employees! Lets go Austintown stop worrying about your own agendas and start worrying about our Children and do the job you are paid well for!!!

we were the guest marching band for the first football game of the season and by 3rd quarter (our…read morefree time) we immediately went over to the concession stand and they ran out of EVERYTHING except coffee. they didnt even have water, and instead were trying to offer sink water. i find this ridiculous as they are a rich enough school to have their own home marching band building, no need to post ads on the screen, and a huge concession stand. quite upsetting

I got to come here my junior…read moreand senior year and was able to complete a program plus still graduate with my high school diploma! They offer so many skilled trades here and they often have Financial aid to help assist as well! The program ate really reasonably priced and then once you graduate high school and your program you are ready for the work force/ and or can pay your way through college! All of instructors are this school wether the ones for the programs themselves and the general Ed teachers were all some of the most friendly and supportive humans I've met! I wish more students would come here and receive what I received because it set me up for the future I have today! Thank you mcctc!
