I have quite the sweet tooth. If I ever do get diabetes down the road (knocking on wood), I will point to Candy Corner as one of the major culprits. One can find a Candy Corner stall pretty much at any major mall. I especially like this branch on the top level (cinema area) of Robinson's Magnolia because they're open late. Makes sense since the spot mainly caters to movie goers, and last full show times are usually past mall hours. When I'm downstairs and doing work late at one of the mall coffee shops, I always get tempted to head upstairs and see what Candy Corner has to offer. It's always a joy when I'm handed that plastic bag and I get to pick and select whatever sweet that I want. It seriously never gets old. Count on me to load that little bag up with gummy bears, Sourpatch Kids, and fruit tape. When restraint scores a small victory and I back off from the bag, I get a small box of Nerds instead. Who doesn't love Nerds? It was a childhood favorite, and with all sorts of flavors now, it stands as an adulthood favorite. Some may consider casinos or a handful of establishments along Quezon Avenue as "houses of sin," but to me, Candy Corner is my house of sin since they also carry (pending availability) my favorite big bags of Ruffles chips. read more
