Considering the city's crisis around animal safety and wellbeing, one would think this rescue would have prioritized follow up to ensure a safe and loving home for this pet, however they don't seem to have the ability to manage the application and review process on a basic level so I would not trust them to handle this important process from beginning to end based on this initial interaction.

I fully explained to them(10 minutes)how I wanted my poodle cut. I SPECIFICALLY asked for a teddy…read morebear cut that has the rounded hair around his nose. I even provided a picture that I showed her in the person and I sent the exact picture to their phone as reference. In addition to telling them specifically how I wanted my dog's face cut I also explained how I didn't want the hair above his nose to be shaved down due to the fact I hated that look and I wanted the round cut. She assured me that was fine since he had more than enough hair. I come to pick him up ( 3+hours later) and his cut is the EXACT WAY I SAID I DID NOT WANT IT!!!I asked why did they cut it that way and her reason was because she forgot. How do you forget the specific instruction on a cut of a paying customer. I explained it and left a picture for her to just cut my dog the way she felt she wanted to cut him. I expressed how I hated it and I should be compensated. This experience was horrible. A groomer is someone you should trust to listen to you and provide a service. I will NEVER return. I left in tears because my request was not unreasonable and all I got was that she forgot! That is totally unacceptable!! Once my review was posted and the owner replied, I then get a text with the following reply which is a complete LIE! I asked more than once if it was due to my puppy being hyper and was told it wasn't NOT. Hime being hyper wasn't even mentioned until they tried to go around the fact that she simply forgot to cut him as I requested. No accountability and no responsibility on their part in FORGETTING ( her exact words) to respect my request on a cut. I would rather them just apologize than to try and cover it up or make "better" by lying. I left a review to others to see my experience and to be careful. I would have more respect if they replied with accountability and the fact that they should listen better and communicate better.

Well I was looking for my first hunting lab last January (2014) and had driven all over Texas…read morelooking at dogs from Ravenna (a few miles south of Oklahoma) down to Kerville in south central Texas. I was in search of something that is truly a jewel when it comes to hunting labs, and I was told by many breeders that what I was in search of something that simply did not exist. That was until I contacted John Tate. (owner of Hunters Creek retrievers) John was really talking up this litter in particular I was looking at. His famous quote I remember him saying when talking to him on the phone was, "These dogs are like computers, all the software you need is in there, you simply have to access it." This could not have been more true. I purchased Buck from John in mid March when Buck was 11 weeks old. Buck had already undergone the "puppy head start training program" for the previous three weeks. This course included the learning of: here, heal, sit, stay; with hand signals, verbal, and whistle commands. From their I trained Buck myself with the help of a particular mentor who offered me priceless knowledge and years of experience in helping me achieve my goal of training my own hunting dog. Four years later, Buck has picked up well over 2,000 birds and is an absolute tank. From diving after cripples, to 250+ yard water blinds in icy water, the dog can do it all. I run a duck hunting guide service so Buck sees 35-40 hunts a season and he just eats it up, truly I could hunt the rest of my life and never pick up a gun again and just work dogs like this and get more enjoyment than shooting the birds. Previous to now, I had never trained a dog, and now, Buck being the level of a master hunter, offers a true testament to the trainability of the dogs that John breeds for. Buck has been a pleasure to train, and our bond is truly unbreakable. If you are looking for the best hunting/family dog around, look no further. John is very knowledgable and professional, and simply knows his dogs. John will forever be my breeder of choice, and after you purchase one of his dogs he will be yours too. -Robert Neely
