This hotel was great! It is situated in an ideal location in the hotel zone. This is a budget hotel amongst the pricier places. I've attached pictures to show the inside of the room I stayed in. The room overlooks the alligator lake, which I found it to be nice. Don't worry, no alligators will come after you. But, if you're lucky enough you might be able to spot a few here and there. The room had a kitchenette (full oven/fridge), a decent size bathroom, a dining area in the first part of the room. As you walk to the second section of the room, you find the bed, bay windows, couple chairs and a table. Also there was a sofa bed. The bed is ok, good enough for a nights rest after walking the beach. The hotel is situated right next to shops restaurants, bars and everything else. COCO BONGO is a five minute walk away. Before I forget, there is plenty of dishes in the kitchen in case you felt the need to cook. This place is amazing because it's literally across the street from CHEDRAUI SELECTO (upscale walmart). You want to stop here to stock up on goodies and souvenirs before heading back home. You have dollar beers, wine coolers, and other alcoholic drinks. They sell everything you need here! DO NOT AND I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY SOUVENIRS anywhere else as they are all the same out on the street only the markup is 3/4 times more then this store. So save yourself money and buy whatever you need here. Before heading out to Cancun I too, did some reading and ended up visiting the MERCADO 28 (market28). DO NOT GO HERE! This place used to once be a locals open air market and now it has turned into a market for tourists only. EVERYTHING here is overpriced, even the food! DO NOT GO HERE. Now to the good parts of the trip... You can visit PLAYA MARLIN, to enjoy a day at the beach. Once there you can rent your own umbrella and chairs for $200/300 for the whole day. You will enjoy crystal clear blue beaches there. You can take the R1 bus anywhere in the hotel zone for $10 pesos (.50american cents) one way. read more

I am looking at hotels to stay in Mexico. I'm comming from the US for dental work and this is one in a dozen hotels referred to us. But the towel jar definitely made up my mind. I cannot believe how you want someone to either use the same towel for 3 days or pay a price for a clean one each day. I've stay all over the US and never heard of such a thing. And do you know how dirty that makes your hotel look? Disgusting! I'm surprised you can get anyone to stay there. This is unheard of in the states read more

This was better than I expected. Its not beachside, it's not plush , and it's not new. If you can look past that, it's a pretty good stay. Its the closest hotel to the clubs, a few blocks from beach access, restaraunts, grocery storea and tours. The staff was very helpful whenever we asked for help. The hotel restaraunt was somewhat cheap and had good food. I would stay here again. One terrible thing is the showers though. Clean, but the jet spray coming out of it is harsh. read more

We are current members at the Cancun Clipper Club in Mexico. The club is undergoing a "Dissolution" in which original owners will be receiving a share of the distribution of assets (cash out) from the sale of the club (finalized in early 2014). We have sent in all the required paperwork as required per the agreement, but have yet to receive our payment (to be wired). Communication from the representatives from the Clearing House managing the process has been sporadic at best. We have been waiting since early September of last year for our payment. The contact at the Clearing house states that the payment comes from a bank in Mexico City and we are on the next payment schedule. Have other CCC members received their payments or are you still waiting? We may need to get an attorney. Any help is appreciated. read more

THIS PLACE IS INFESTED WITH ROACHES!!!!! The very first night there was a small roach climbing across the bathroom door when we first arrived, less than 24 hours later we had counted no less than 10. My travel partner was sleep and jumped out the bed and there were two of them scurrying across the floor that had been crawling on her. Finally not able to take it anymore we went to the front office where the employee basically called us liars and said there was nothing that could be done because the security guard didn't see anything when he came to check. We had to go back to the room and pull the beds out to record with our phones the baby roaches that were on the mattress to which the employee stated "well you did something to it" STILL discrediting our room for having roaches, and then proceeded to tell us we were free to go to another hotel. Mind you it's 400 AM in the morning. We finally were moved to a top floor room two hours later but avoid staying here. The customer service is rude and the rooms are severely infested read more
