If you are looking to get keys copied quickly then you can head over to these Minute Key machines located near the key shop in Canadian Tires. They may also be located in other hardware chain stores but this is the first time that I have seen these machines. You simply use the touchscreen panel to select the number of copies you want and then then select the key design too. These do have some fun designs and I was super happy they had a Toronto Raptors key design. All you have to do is insert your key into the slot and then watch through the clear display window as the machine cuts the new key right in front of you. Clearly the only choice was to get my new key copied with the Toronto Raptors logo. I was pretty happy with the end result! read more

My local garage closed, so I booked a service appointment with the Canadian Tire garage on Leslie and Lakeshore. The next day, while driving on the highway, the tire warning light came on. Checked it, and I had just 20 psi in one tire , less than half of the recommended air pressure -- which was supposed to have been checked by their "multipoint" inspection. Today I dropped my Toyota off at a local independent garage for an oil change. The mechanic broke a tool trying to remove the over-tightened oil filter. It's going to cost me $85 to get it fixed, not including the oil change. If you value your car and your cash, go somewhere else. read more

I had a tire with a slow leak. I went into the service department but they were too busy to fit me in. The manager topped my tire up with air, sent me on my way and said to keep filling it with air until I could be fit in for an appointment. The CAA guy who then had to come save me from the parking lot I was stranded in alone late at night told me that was the stupidest advice he had ever heard - but that he wasn't surprised it came from someone at Canadian Tire. read more

Love Canadian Tire. Have been shopping at the Yonge and Bloor location for decades. Love the store,the set up,the environment, especially since the new upgrade...huge spacious clean shopping experience...helpful staff etc. However recently i had to return a defected kitchen appliance which I'd purchased online. It was past the 30 day return policy timeframe and i was also unable to find the online receipt. So called up the store explained everything to them. Manager said I had to have some type of proof of purchase which makes sense. Asked her if my credit card statement would be good enough...she said provided all the relevant info  is available...however the exact details of the purchase was not available on statement... only the date, time of purchase, amount. She said that's not enough. I then called the original store where this purchase all originated, explained the story to them, was given a number to call, called and explained the story,was on the phone for about half hour,still nothing, except they will need to open a Case which will take about two weeks to complete. Was given a point of sale number.  Called back the store in my area at Yonge and Bloor with the POS#, updated the manager as to wats happening ....told her I had a POS#. at which point she said to me that would not help. I called back the original store repeated myself again,told them I had a POS#  Was on the phone for about half hour trying to see what they can come up with. The rep couldn't help me she then had to pass me on to the manager. Repeated myself again to the manager...she then told me go to the store in my area and give them the POS# and the credit card that was used for purchase... they should be able to give me a refund. Called back the store manager at Yonge and Bloor...in no uncertain terms I said to her...I had just spoke to the manager at the original store, I was told that you should be able to refund the purchase with POS# and credit card. She told me to come in. I then said could we try on the phone first with the information I have got before I come in the cold ... to see if it would work. In a frustrated tone of voice she said CAN I PASS U BACK ON TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT again....I said yes! The agent Ana sounded frustrated and rude whilst trying to search for the info. I asked her wats her name ... She said to me her name does not matter at this point... I then said to her I was just wanted to know who I'm speaking with... In a very low tone she says... I am Anna... . Went to the store 2 days ago there was an oriental lady who has helped me without any hesitations ...guess she was already updated on what was happening .. she had all of the relevant information right there and then at the register. I am just glad that I was able to return the product... however I'm just sharing my experience what I have had to go through  in order to get a refund!  Side note when I first got the item... I was away for about a month ...ie. was not able to use the item within the 30 day return timeframe which I had explained to the manager whose name is Melanie. As a manager I thought she would know that with the POS# and the credit card ....  she would be able to help me ... probably she's new on the job! Very frustrating and time consuming...sounds like no one knew what was happening...thru the entire process... everyone seemed confusing...and was saying something different...to me! read more

The review is for the auto repairs. Both of my taillights burned out and I needed to replace them ASAP. Called a few places to see if they can fit me in last minute but no luck. Brought my car in to Canadian time same day and they managed to have everything fixed in an hour. I believe I paid $50 for both taillights which is VERY CHEAP (other places what're me about $100). Consistency is key. First time I have been at this location and was asked to check my bag. Having a purse that can be strapped to your bag does not constitute a knapsack. I have carried this purse many times and have never been stopped. Yet some security person felt that a 60 year old woman carrying a bag on her back was a threat to steal stuff I suppose. I mentioned to him that this has never been an issue before. He should be able to tell the difference. So I emptied my bag. Cash, wallet, keys, carried all in my hand. Only bought two item's because it was enough to irate me. Did not feel like shopping around and possibly buy more. Seriously... security. Get a grip on what a knapsack or large bag look like. You have bigger issues than people with smaller "knapsacks " read more

Customer service is horrible. Came into store for a copy of a receipt to invoice to my company. Waited three days no response so I called and was put on hold until it hung up. This happened about 10 times... So I decided to drive 20 min when the issue should've been resolved the first day I went into the store and requested for a copy. I understand it's busy and many places are short staffed but when I came in frustrated, the associate at the customer service counter was not doing anything... Horrible customer service! Why Canadian Tire can suck? Superstores are too big, it's hard to find what you need... great if you can find help, usually not so easy. With traffic, parking and trekking through the aisles, even the smallest item requires 30 minutes. Tire needs an app to navigate the store. The biggest gripe with Tire, is how they designed the exit. After spending 20 minutes to learn that what I was looking for was out of stock, I am blocked from leaving the store by being forced to join a queue of shoppers lined up for cashiers. With shoppers waiting with buggies and kids, I can't easily skip the queue. I'm standing in line with nothing to purchase for another 10 minutes. While Tire is convenience in that houses a plethora of merchandise, experiences like this undermine any good-will I have for the brand. read more

If you're looking it get completely excessively charged to have a rim leak on your tire fixed - Canadian Tire at Leslie and Lakeshore it the place to go. What would have be at best a $25 maybe $30 fix turns out to be $60. It must have taken at most 5 minutes to clear up and include a little bit of rim sealant and apparently a rebalance? Here was the customer service I got regarding my concern: "didn't they tell you how much it would cost" "Well we charge $135/hr for labour" "Well the price depends on the location of the Canadian Tire" - why does location matter your a chain shop for gods sake! "Why don't you lodge a complaint with or talk to the shop manager" who for sure will start his customer service chant with the words "Unfortunately" and finish off with there is nothing we will do for you while thinking another customer fleeced..... Are you kidding me? Needless to say I'm pissed off with that clown show but true to form Canadian Tire Auto lives up to its reputation as a second rate service shop. Heaven help those that need a tune up. Given the cost of a tire fix, a tune up has to run somewhere in the thousands. I'm not sure I have ti explain my reasoning for my rating. I am writing again because I returned to the Canadian Tire at 60 Dundas to file a complaint against Beebe but unfortunately there was no senior manager available and no means for me to get a message to David McClenahan the owner and licensee. Beebe had appalling behavior as I described in my previous review. She is either extremely ignorant and foul or just plain racist. In either case it would behoove David McClenahan to demote her and haver her retrained. She is a terrible manager. I know this quite clearly now because when I returned to Canadian Tire I met Harry who is also a manager. He had a full understanding of what customer service means. He was professional and polite to everyone he served or encountered. Harry was calm and patient with me and he really tried to help make things right. I very much appreciated the way Harry handled the issue. As it turns out, the Christmas Crackers were on sale. This was discovered because Harry actually knows how to do his job. He took the time to investigate the pricing instead of dismissing me with the wave of his hand as Beebe had done. This positive review is not for Canadian Tire, but rather it is for Harry who is definitely a cut above the other managers and he should be recognized for his good work and amazing efforts to put customers first. I was going to order a 40 dollar Christmas tree from Canadian tire which is located 3 kilometres from my apartment. I was going to have it shipped to my apartment. Canadian Tire was going to charge me seventeen dollars for shipping. 17.00 dollars to drive a 40 dollar product 3 kilometres. This is one of the bigger Canadian Tires (CT) accessible by car downtown. The location, variety and service is head and shoulders above the Dundas Square location. The building it is located in houses a Starbucks and Mark Warehouse (kinda a signature thing for CT) The place is bright and has lots of space. Staff was helpful in the few instances I needed them. I have not used their home improvement staff much though as I guess that's the area someone like me needs the most help. I don't come here often enough to know whether the on special items are well stocked but I did see plenty of bins full of the items advertised in their flyer on my last visit here. I by no means adhere to the rule if its not at Canadian Tire its not worth buying! (yes I have heard this one a few times in Canada) but if I have a choice to go to a CT near downtown this one would be it. read more

I've had a lot of bad luck buying vacuums here. I bought a Bissell and the foot piece broke. They wouldn't replace the vacuum or give me a store credit because it was past the return policy expiry. I had to go through the manufacturer, which just sent me a replacement part weeks later. That part also broke again shortly thereafter. Canadian Tire stocks crappy products and doesn't stand behind them. If a vacuum breaks after 2 months of use then you should not only be ashamed of yourself, you should also give me my money back. I also bought a Shop Vac because apparently it's cheaper to buy a vacuum that comes with all the accessories you need than to buy the accessories separately. The Shop Vac works fine and is a quality product but it was used!! I bought it a couple weeks ago and wanted the accessories for my stronger Shop Vac and had hoped to resell this one. The bag was used and had dust in it. I can no longer sell it as new. Canadian Tire accepts used and dirty vacuums with their used and dirty vacuum bags as returns, and then puts it back on the shelf and sells it as new. The box was sealed too! I trusted it! With my previous experience trying to return a vacuum I won't even bother trying to return this one, they'll probably think I used it, but who knows, maybe they'd take it back! It's not surprising because when I used to work at a Canadian Tire they took back a used toilet snake. It's fine if you wanna take it back to give the customer a better experience but don't shelf it for customers to buy. Also some people are pretty terrible; who would use a vacuum and return it used? Staff should check items properly before accepting a return as new because of dishonest customers that would buy things, use them and return them. This store is large. Customer service is friendly, especially the cashiers. The floor staff try to help and generally know where everything is. Mixed reviews with hardware folks though that pretend they know what they're talking about. It's ok if you don't know, just don't ramble on about nothing forever. They have a lot of stuff in stock, and sometimes good sales. Good experience if there's no problem with anything you buy. If there is, your 4-5-star experience will quickly drop to 1-2 stars. Good luck trying to return a defective product. The experience is like night and day. It would be better if they stood behind their products so customers could get a store credit and buy a better one, and it would be great if they didn't sell used things. It's hard to return stuff (for me, anyhow), and it's very disappointing to find out too late that you bought a used vacuum. That's unsanitary. read more

Went there tonight after work, long line to check out snaking around shelves. They had stickers every 6 feet that a lot of people ignored. The staff did nothing to enforce the 6 foot distancing. All of the cash registers were not open. In my opinion, not in keeping with good covid safety practices. Recommend avoiding the store during busy times since they don't have a quick and safe check out set up. read more

I have shopped at this Canadian Tire store for more than 8 years. I have never had any problems and the service was always amazing. When I organized a large community clean up in the Don Valley, I reached out to them to ask if they would help sponsor garbage bags. The store manager was incredibly supportive and helpful. They gave us plenty of bags as well as gloves, and went out of their way to find the right types and ensure that we got what we needed. I really enjoyed conversing with their staff, and loved that they sincerely interested in and cared about our good cause. This is a privately owned corporation, and it looks like the people enjoy doing their job. It makes a huge difference. read more

I spent 3000 dollars getting new tires and brakes. The first appointment for the tires took almost 4 hours. I left with them shaking. I returned to do the brakes once the parts were in, waiting another 4 hours. I was assured the shaking tires had been balanced as well. Instead, I left with the tires shaking worse and now the brakes squeak. I called today to come back in (for a third time, now I have missed work 3 times for this), and was told that it will take another 3.5 hours because "its that time of year". I can't help but think that if I were a middle aged man I wouldn't be dealing with this. I asked if I could be made a priority due to the time and money I have sunk into this and was told no. This is the worst car service I have ever received and I am deeply disgusted with both the cost, the investment of my time and the overall disrespect of dealing with the male staff at this establishment. I will be sure to tell everyone I know to stay clear, and find an honest mechanic elsewhere. read more

Tried to use buy online and pick up at Store at the Lakeshore location. Took weeks for someone to pick up three items and bring to the pick up area. I tried to call to cancel the order but there is no queue on their customer service line so I have been getting try later for weeks now. I have a charge on my credit card but no merchandise. This is really close to Fraud in my opinion but no one answers the phone even on the Corporate line. Brutal custom service. read more

This is for the Auto Service location - not the main store. And also not the oil change place. The Oil Change place is awesome. This place is terribly understaffed. They are rude and abrupt with customers as if it is an inconvenience for them to help you. The one guy with glasses and dark hair needs a lesson in customer service. My car stopped working on Wednesday night - had it towed to the service centre and was left in the parking lot. Went in Thursday morning and asked them to look at it. They called back saying the car cannot be fixed by them and I need to bring it to the dealership. Go back and get a tow truck to pick it up at Canadian Tire... The car was never moved. They didn't do anything to see what was going on with the car. The CAA tow truck guy hooks up his battery charger and car starts up. Turns out my battery was leaking some acid and all I needed was a new battery. I will never bring my car here again for any service. read more

My car got side swiped while I was at the gym. I returned to find the cover of my side mirror on the ground with the wires exposed. I was beside myself! I know little of cars and I was desperately seeking temp solution. Derek & Taj at the Main Street east Canadian tire in Hamilton went out of their way to help me! It's clear that they were swamped with work plus bunch of clients waiting on them. But they took the time to tape my side mirror back into place and to console me. i'm waiting on the parts to come in so my car is still busted but that tape has stayed on. All you hear is the scraping of metal on concrete as you smell the progressive burning with every mile. You drive to the repair shop, stopping off at the bank to make sure that you have enough liquid finances to cover what's certain to be a ridiculously high bill. "No worries sir. We fixed it. There's no charge." Huh? "It was a simple fix. Took us no time. Have a great day!" Best. Mechanic. Ever. I know absolutely nothing about automobiles. To me, they're magical horseless carriages that are designed by robots to fail. When they break, I am at your mercy. Best customer service I've received in a long time. I bought a Samsung vacuum cleaner from this location a year ago. I lost my receipt and they were able to pull up my purchase using the card I made the purchase with. I was told that I would have to go to Samsung to have them issue a repair or refund. Samsung wouldn't honor the warranty because they had an issue with the machine being from the US even though it was purchased in Canada. I got a call from the store a day later from the manager at CT who had heard about my issue and told me to return to the store for a store credit. I am now the proud owner of a Dyson. This is a very large and relateively new Canadian Tire; one of the better ones in the city. It's upstairs and has it's own cart escalator. Eventhough we showed up 20 mins to closing time, the paint counter was kind enough to mix some paint for us. It's conveniently located in the portlands just off the Gardiner and the plaza also has a TD, Boston Pizza and other useful shops. read more

Canadian Tire Pit Stop...it's not worth the convenience factor since they can't perform a basic oil change. I brought my car in here for a simple oil change, they drained the transmission fluid instead. When I went to drive away and the car gave problems and would barely move forward or backwards (as I'm sure it didn't when they went to park it!) they tried to explain it was my tire. After pushing them to recheck everything it turned out they didn't even give me an oil change. Just poured oil into the old oil and completely drained my transmission fluid which could cost a serious amount to fix. Will never go here again and would not recommend it to anyone if you want it done properly. Shocking that this is the main service they perform and cannot do it correctly read more

I recently visited the Lakeshore and Leslie Canadian Tire stores auto service department as I've had very positive experiences with them in the past. I should add this is contrary to experiences I've had with other locations. All I was trying to do was have a burnt out head lamp bulb replaced, simple enough. As the technician was driving my Land Rover into the service bay, he hit the hoist arm with my front tire, which subsequently went "poof". These were my expensive Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires. They were appropriately apologetic and after a quick discussion, they agreed that while the one tire needed replacement, replacing a new tire when the other 3 were worn out would not only be unsafe, but would also damage the vehicles drive line components. Without any fuss or arguments, even though the tires were at the end of their life, they agreed to replace all 4 tires - at a considerable expense I might add - at their expense What a wonderful example of a reputable business doing the right thing, even if it was considerably painful for them. If you have a car, and you just want to find a service department that will be honest, forthright, and offer you good value and expertise, I highly recommend you visit this location. read more

This is one of my favourite Canadian Tire locations. In general I like coming here much more than Home Depot, Rona and the like because the merch is just so well rounded. Prices may not always compare, but when they have sales, boy do they have sales. The aisles are wide, and things are easy to find. The associates are helpful and the background sing along pop songs help with the shopping mood. It's one of those stores I tend to wander around and want to buy everything for some reason. There's a Service Ontario counter right in the store. Seems a little weird, but brings people to the location. The counter is hit or miss on the line up. Starbucks is right downstairs, perfect to peruse the store with a hot beverage in hand. read more

From flashlights, to toilet paper, to Terro Ant Traps (the BEST if you have ants roaming your house searching for food!), I have shopped for it all at this Canadian Tire. It has lots of parking, and bonus - it's next door to a Marks Work Wearhouse AND a Shoppers Drug Mart so I can get a bunch of errands done with 1 park of the car! This store is on the 2nd floor, so a trip up the escalator or elevator is required, but it's fun to watch the shopping carts take their own personal escalator up and down beside you! There is a Service Ontario location inside the store, but I have never used it. Always seems to have plenty of cashiers open, as well as the dreaded self serve check outs. read more

Went here to get some closet organizers. Overall I don't mind CT..for a big box store it's one of the more neater/organized places...things aren't all over the floor or misplaced in the shelves so usually there isn't a mix up at the register (but the sign said it was $10 and not $50!). Their stores do have that industrial feel to it..better than Costco but not like Target. You don't see staff too much on the floor but since I haven't really had to interact with them I can't really comment. I like how the aisles are labelled so you can easily find what you are looking for. They also have a computer in the front of the store that allows you to do a search (kinda like Chapters) which is great. Before you start running all over the store you can easily see if they have what you want in stock. read more

I like this Canadian Tire a lot. For a downtown store, it seems to be pretty spacious. Sometimes stuff isn't laid out in the most logical fashion. For example, I've been on a frustrating quest for leaf bags and taken forever to find them. Why are they at the end of the kitchen appliances aisle instead of in the gardening aisles? Otherwise, it's a pretty decent Canadian Tire. I really like the fact that its a dog friendly store. If I ever have to ask for assistance to find a product, the employees here are actually helpful. read more

Worst customer service of any box store that I have visited. The managers are rude, the store owner is beyond rude, and there is never anyone to help you. The area for seasonal merchandise is always a mess, they never have enough staff to keep the place clean and tidy, there's always stuff on the floors. Helpful knowledgeable staff - bought my deck furniture here a couple of years back and staff member spent over 1 hour with me Recently also used the Auto Centre for a DriveClean check - was in and out as promised in 15 minutes I still would not take any complicated auto mechanical issues to Cdn Tire (too many bad experiences from the past), but for simple stuff like oil changes, tires, emissions, they are fine. Terrible negative and sour attitude from service counter staff. Really bad. Promised me to have car ready after installing two tires in two hours. Came back in two hours and they hadn't even started on it. No apologies or anything - just kept me waiting longer and longer. AND they charged $40 to install the tires which is at least four x what tire shops charge when you buy tires from them. And I came here BC I thought it would be quick and painless. What a mistake. Canadian Tire is a hardware store of last resort for me.I am a semiskilled handyman and anytime i need a quick tool or a part for my car or home repairs I think of Canadian Tire as a one stop shopping store for me. I like their no fuss return policy also. I would recommend this store if you want to save time shopping from shopping at multiple stores. I use their auto repair services with caution as like all auto repair shops Their charges can be high and the diagnosis not always accurate. read more
