Nice spot we were recommended to try by our hostel receptionist. The wine is cheap and super good…read more I really enjoyed the pasta and the potato balls we ate (I don't remember what they were called). They had a large variety of tapas as well. The waiters/waitresses were very friendly. Service was very good.

My husband and I were trying to find some good places to dine while we were in Ibiza, but we were there from Sat-Mon. And I don't know if you're familiar with Spain yet, but they pretty much shut everything down on Sundays & Mondays. Monday afternoon, we had just finished climbing the castle and looking out at the views. We walked into town and I remembered seeing the reviews for this gem of a restaurant. We walked in around 3:45pm on a Monday. I was sure they'd either be closed or closing, but to our surprise, they were open and very welcoming! We were the only people in there besides one person in the front on their computer. We sat in the back, outdoor space. It was lovely and peaceful, and we were so tired. The food came out immediately after we ordered and it had a stunning presentation, but the taste was even more stunning! I'm from NYC, we eat out a lot and we know good food. We're picky, new restaurants open and close every day in NYC. Mar a Vila should be in NYC!! Or at least they should open a location there or in Brooklyn. They definitely need to open more locations somewhere. This food is too good to be kept on such a tiny island, away from so many people! Well, at the end of our meal, Patricia, cleared our plates and then just let us sit. She never made us feel like we needed to leave. It was very nice and a great way to revive after a long, adventurous day. Patricia & Pablo, you have an amazing restaurant! I hope I can come back to Ibiza and experience it more.

We ended up at Can Costa almost by chance. We were heading to another place, but it was closed. We…read morefound Can Costa on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. Glad we did. The restaurant is located in downtown Ibiza, wih no parking around, so be prepared to walk. The place feels very local and authentic. Simple interior, nothing fancy. It looks like it's run by two owners, a man and a woman, which adds to the family feel. The food is simple and honest. Grilled fish, grilled octopus, good portions, well cooked. The alioli is very traditional, strong, and full of garlic. Served with bread and olives, and it was excellent. One thing to note about seating. We were given our own table, but we noticed the solo customers seated together at one table with strangers. That may not suit everyone, but it feels very typical of local places. Overall, a solid choice if you want real Ibizan food, not a polished tourist restaurant. Would come back if I'm in the area again.

To begin with, the staff here is sincerely warm, honest and transparent. The hardworking mom and…read morepop shop treats everyone with respect and dignity, regardless of their country of origin, Spanish language competence or accent. They embody class and human values in a nation that is becoming xenophobic while they relish taking one's money via deceitful webs proliferated by double standards. This is definitely not the type of establishment that gives you bread and then sneakily charges 3.5 euros for the gesture. Here, you can get a homemade paella for one as an appetizer that is phenomenal. This statement comes from an individual who makes his own seafood plates with real saffron and the freshest seafood available. The grilled cod was not drenched in oil, and you are able to have salads with oil and vinegar on the side. Gastronomic traditions that may not be in line with individual diets are not imposed. Desserts like lemon mousse are also homemade and the perfect antidote for any heatwave. In sum, Ibiza has been known fairly or unfairly as a millionaire's backyard, but the real wealth lies in the stories of salt of the earth individuals such as the dear ones that run this fascinating restaurant. Meeting them and being served here has been the highlight of my trip to Spain that has come with a variety of experiences.
