Spoke with sales team and agreed to price of vehicle and communicated was on the way to dealership that was a 2 hr drive. Arrived and was told they were processing the vehicle for someone else and didnt even attempt to text (as we had been) to communicate me and possibly save me from the drive. When I contacted them they treated me as if I were a child and was persistent in insulting me because I was going to have my stepfather who is in the motorcycle business help me in purchasing the motorcycle. I have just had a terrible experience working with Brian Campbell (owner).It began a month ago when I was in the market for a motor home. The company had a nice winnebego 25 footer for sale on Craigslist in Indianapolis. I called the listed number for info about it. Everything they told me sounded good. I made an appointment to it. I was not able to see it right away because the owner was unavailable. They asked me to pick a day when he was there. Fine, I picked a day. My wife and I drove about 1.5 hours to the town of Rushville IN. Upon getting to the lot the vehicle was not there. Brian said it was in storage at is house. We got in our cars and drove several miles to his home to look at it. He had it in a large garage type building. We looked it over, loved it and decided to purchase it for 91,000 after taxes. We did not take it for a drive that day and made arrangements to drive it when he got it ready to demo. I put down 1000 dollars toward the purchase. Over the course of the next few weeks we did a cash out Refi on our home. With a check for 90,000 dollars in hand we made an appointment to go take a test drive and complete the purchase. During the test drive both my wife and I were unable to hear each other talk due to what seemed to be a window or door air leak. It was like being in a wind tunnel. After we finished the test drive we told McKensey ( the sales representative ) we were no longer interested due to the noise. She made a call Brian and told him what had just transpired. He offered to give us another 1000 dollars off. My wife said no. So we left. About 1 hour we got a call from McKenzie. She told me they found the problem and fixed it. We were near home and declined to go back. That evening my wife found another one on line. Same model except this one was only 1 year old still having warranty for the same price. We let the seller know we were not going to purchase his. OK, up until now everything is fine. During the next two weeks I made several attempts to get my 1000 dollar deposit back. I was always told Brian was in Florida and I could only deal with him. Finally I had had enough run around and demanded to speak to him directly. She told me he was not available right now but I could speak to him when he was free ( after 3 PM ). Around 3:15 I got a text from McKenzie telling me Brian offered to give me 500 of my thousand dollars back. That didn't work for me so I called him directly. I asked him on what planet do you thing you can keep a deposit after an unsuccessful test drive of the vehicle. He finally agreed to refund the full amount. Here is the good part. HE REFUSED to credit my charge card saying I caused him so much trouble he wasn't going to spend 1 more minute on me. I offered to mail him a self addressed envelope to put the check in and drop it in the mail. NO WAY he said if you want you money back come and get it. Rushville is over an hour from my home. So if I wanted my money I had to waste 2.5 hours to get it. Upon meeting Brian it was my hope to have a meeting of the minds and convince him I did nothing to deserve his treatment of me. I told him, I refinanced my house, showed up with the money to complete the transaction and it was TOTALLY his fault the vehicle was not fully ready for a test drive. Brian YOU blew it not me. I was there with money YOU failed. Brian refused to have that discussion with me. He rudely handed a check to my wife and told me get out of his place of business. Great experience! I live in Indianapolis within 5 miles of 10 plus major dealerships, but saw the 2013 Ford Edge that I wanted on Campbell Brothers lot. I contacted Brian Campbell on the phone and we arranged to meet. The vehicle was cleaned and pulled out front for me to look at. Brian could have not been nicer or more knowledgeable. He is a true family man working for a family business. After several months, the floor board of my vehicle was soaking wet due to a part failure caused by Ford. I still had a warranty with Ford and took the vehicle to my local Ford dealer for repair. The dealership made excuses as to why they would not honor their warranty...glad I didn't buy here! I contacted Brian Campbell and told him about the problems that I was having. Even though I was past the dealership warranty that I received when I purchased the Ford Edge, Brian told me to drop the vehicle off and he would help me out. I dropped the vehicle off and Brian gave me a loaner car while his service team went to work. When I picked up the vehicle, Brian showed me where the fail had occurred and said that Ford knew about this issue, but was slow in issuing the part recall. I WAS NOT CHARGED FOR THE REPAIR WORK but rather was given a smile and a firm handshake. Thanks Brian Campbell for the great service and going the extra mile for your customer! read more
