I had to stay here for a special event for my friend and boy do I have a lot to say. I had no say in choosing this venue. The food served by the cafeteria staff was horrendous. I had to take Imodium for diarrhea because they didn't know how to cook proper Mexican food. I would have been better off eating from a gas station. While the rooms seemed clean and somewhat new: no TVs, small bathrooms, and the fire alarms went off at night every 2 hours driving us crazy. Plus we weren't allowed to do zip lining, archery, or even boating. A lot of unpaved roads. The pool and slide were okay. Glad I only had to stay here one night. So glad when we left and went to a real restaurant back in San Antonio. read more

Our community is not only in extreme drought but has had numerous fires recently. Camp Young Judea put on a fireworks event four days ago right in the middle of all this. The fire department was not made aware and so not even on standby in case of an emergency. I don't understand this disregard for the surrounding community safety. I do appreciate what they do for the youth, and the campus is beautiful, but endangering lives and property really needs to be addressed and stopped. They have not offered any comments to the community as to why they did this and whether they will cease fireworks during burn bans/hazardous conditions. read more
