A stroll upon the Tilikum Crossing is not merely a crossing it is an experience, dear reader, of…read morethe most civilized kind. Opened in 2015, this rather distinguished span stretches some 1,720 feet (a modest 0.30 miles, if you please), composed of roughly three and a half miles of elegant cable. And what makes it all the more proper? No motorcars allowed. Only buses, cyclists, and pedestrians quite right, wide chap. Orderly, safe, and delightfully serene, with buses gliding along at a sensible 25 miles per hour in their designated lanes. Its name, derived from a Chinook Wawa word meaning "people," "tribe," or "relatives," feels rather fitting. One cannot help but feel a sense of togetherness upon it an unspoken camaraderie among those who traverse its path. Now, allow me a small tale. After descending from the Portland Aerial Tram with a few companions, we found ourselves pausing midway across. There we stood, laughing like schoolchildren, when along came a most curious sight a gentleman dressed as a clown, pedaling past on his bicycle, honking and gesturing with theatrical enthusiasm. I say, it was impossible not to laugh. And then, as if the scene required a proper encore, we glanced upward. The sun was setting soft, golden, utterly splendid. Birds chirped their evening chorus as daylight faded into that slightly ominous, yet enchanting dusk. And just like that, the bridge awakened. Its LED lights began to shimmer and shift, reflecting the river's speed, height, and temperature below how clever, how modern, how utterly lovely. Indeed, the design itself is striking clean, contemporary, and most unique. By day it is impressive; by night, it is simply dazzling. One does not merely cross here one lingers, one laughs, one takes it all in. And isn't that just lovely?

Awesome bridge. The bridge does not feature any roads for private vehicles, which actually makes…read morethe bridge a serene escape where you can work out in peace without having to worry about incoming cars. Overall, I think it is a great bridge! It certainly offers great views of Cascadia.

Fabulous and beautiful historic house above Portland - restored and with period furniture. Those…read moreinterested in the details of living at that time will find much to see. One caution fir visitors. Our car in the Pittock parking lot was broken into. Nothing to take but expensive to repair the window. There are plenty of warning signs about leaving no valuables. This is a paid parking lot. Wish they would arrange for some security at a popular tourist destination.

Items that are there are some of the original items that were donated to the mansion they have a Blue P next to the item. Other items there are antiques that have been placed to fit the theme. Lots of photos of the family and context to the photos! This was great. Outside was clean and there were ton of labels for all the plants. Flowers and plants full bloom! We did the WildWood Trail to the Witches Castle! It's a nice hike. Wear appropriate shoes and clothes! 2.3-5 miles round trip. It's a big enough path for multiple people but some areas narrow. The climb down is good but man back up lol you will feel the burn. They have restrooms onsite indoor and then they have a bathroom in the mansion basement. Toilets flush loud don't be alarmed. At the bottom of the trail when you cross the street, there was a porta potty. Map as well. Parking is expensive: weekend Saturday it was roughly $24 for all day! There are benches and picnic tables towards the view! Staff are very nice! Gift shop as well with snacks, plants, jewelry, postcards, and all sorts of items.
