I've been taking Otis and Luther to this camp since they opened. My dogs would get excited when we're blocks away and alway came home happy and tired. Anthony, the manager, and all the staff know them by name and I never, never worry. One time, they were full, had to take my pups elsewhere, and they were not as content when we came home. We recently had to say goodbye to Luther, and this camp went out of their way to let us know that they were sad too. They have paid extra attention to Otis, knowing he's alone now. I have been taking my dogs here since it opened its doors, and I have continuously received excellent service from the owner, management, and staff. My dogs love to go there. When I turn onto S. Jasmine, they start barking with excitement because they know where I'm going. I have found the staff at Camp Bow Wow SE to be exceptionally pleasant, attentive, and flexible. My dog has boarded here at least five separate occasions, and they're awesome! -The staff has always been friendly and helpful. -The price is awesome (if you board, you don't pay for the daycare). -There are always a bunch of sweet, playful dogs there. -My dog comes back exhausted! -You can monitor your dog through the camera feed they post online. I go back and forth between this daycare (closer) and one other(other one is open 24 hours) without any problems until just now when we were told my dog "howls too much" and that "he causes other dogs to react" and that he's not allowed back. He's a DOG he's going to howl/bark that what dogs do. He's not aggressive towards other dogs or people. He's super well-mannered and playful. Exactly how is it they are ok with dogs that hump other dogs or act aggressive towards other dogs but can't handle the noise of a dog howling/barking. He has always gotten great feedback at his other daycare so either this Camp Bow Wow is completely intolerant of a dog being a dog or if in fact my dog is howling excessively their employees are doing something to trigger it. read more

Our dog trainer at Petsmart recommended Camp Bow Wow, but I was very disappointed. Our dog came from a puppy mill, and is the sweetest dog, but she doesn't really know how to play or be a normal dog yet. The staff were unhelpful, and actually laughed when I said she was from a puppy mill. They did not explain how the interview process worked and just took my dog and threw her in the back with a bunch of other dogs. She is a little more fearful of men, and when I went to pick her up, one of the guys that worked there exclaimed, "Oh that dog? I can't get her, she keeps running away from me!" As if she was doing something terrible. They gave me no feedback on how she did the few hours she was there, and had no interest in my dog at all. I never took her back, and now she's very happily learning how to play at The Big Backyard, a place where the staff actually cares about their dogs. read more

I love that they let my dog try out day camp as a puppy for free on Mondays. It lets me begin to socialize her and drop her off for as long as she and I are comfortable. (She would probably like to stay longer, but I get anxious after about 2.5 hours!!) I can build up to a day of care vs. taking a small puppy there for too long. This is a wonderful perk!! read more

Meant to review this sooner but I was hoping if I didn't I would forget this awful experience ever happened. WILL NOT TAKE MY DOG HERE AGAIN. Had my pup stay for a week during the Christmas holiday and was very dissatisfied. They charged us for an extra day because the receptionist booked the wrong dates when I called to schedule and they refused to refund it upon pickup. I was also asked to get her $100 worth of vaccinations before they would accept her (which I'm fine with) but they obviously let other people slide on this policy because MY DOG CAME HOME WITH A HORRIBLE CASE OF KENNEL COUGH which cost me another $100 in antibiotics. Not happy, would not recommend taking your baby here. I will be going with an independent dog sitter next time. read more

Would love to rave about this establishment but sadley I cannot. I have taken two of my dogs to this daycare. The first experience was top notch 100%.That was a few years ago. Lately since my last dog passed away I took my new dog there hoping for the same customer service. That was not the case. There is a man who works in the check in that is so condescending that I have to throw the towel in on this place. I just took my dog there this week and right after I left I checked out another day care center. I have given this gentleman three chances all rude and disrespectful to myself and once with a great friend I tried to refer. The referral of my friend was when I think this particular gentleman started working there. I have gave it several chances since because the rest of the staff is always top notch. Its a bummer that one individual can bring the place down. I would love to give this establishment five stars . If the man who works check in with brown hair in his mid 40's with a larger build still runs the front desk or acts like it I will not be be there again.Like I said everyone else is great. read more

When I moved to Denver last year, I had to find a place to board my 4 dogs while looking for a house. Having used Camp Bow Wow in my old home town of Las Vegas, I contacted JoAnn prior to my move. She and her staff were absolutely wonderful in getting everything set up prior to our arrival. I had to board them for 3 months and it was definitely harder on me than my dogs. Each time I went to visit or pull one out for the day, it was clear that they were all happy and well taken care of. There is no other place that I would board my dogs. read more

I will not be bringing my dog back to this particular Camp Bow Wow. It seems like a pretty unprofessional place. My dog stayed there for four days and came home with a sore leg. Also, from the amount of food they gave back to us, he hardly ate anything at all while he was there. When I picked up my dog they did not mention any of this to me, just took my money. The staff has always been sort of rude and they never acted like they were happy to see my dog, or like they even actually like dogs. I picked this place originally for the price, but I have done a lot or research and there are plenty of other places of comparable price in the neighborhood. This is the best place ever to take your pooch! Owner and staff are wonderful and really love the dogs. My Louie is so excited to get there he cries with happiness all the way there. My lab Remy has been going to Camp Bow Wow on S. Jasmine St. since I adopted him about eight years ago. He goes periodically for daycare, and he stays there every time I take a trip (2-4 times p/year). It's the only place he has ever slept when not at home/with me. I recommend Camp Bow Wow and its staff wholeheartedly. Wow, where to begin...? First, every time I drop him off, they're so excited to see him - and it's the only place where Remy will run in and not look back at me because he is SO excited to join his friends and play. Major kudos to the owner Joanne and the manager Russ, who have consistently gone out of their way to help me and Remy over the years. For example, my dog had a puncture wound after playing at a dog park one day, and he had to have stitches. As it turned out, I was out of town - and he was at Camp Bow Wow - the day he had to have his stitches out, so I was not going to be there to take him to the vet for this, and I was really worried about it. Russ called their visiting vet, who came in to do it, but they also made sure Remy wore his t-shirts each day he still had stitches (so that he would not scratch his wound) and took his meds, etc. Nothing was too much trouble, and all my worries went away after speaking with Russ, who is also so helpful and professional. Consequently, I had complete peace of mind while on my trip and knew I didn't have to worry about him because he was in such good hands. Another time...long story short: a random woman dumped her sweet rotweiler puppy on me before she left town. I couldn't keep her, but I wanted to make sure she found a good home, so I asked Joanne about it, and she found a wonderful home for her by asking around at Camp Bow Wow for me. They love dogs and nothing is ever too much trouble. All of the staff is always so friendly and professional when I drop him off, and it's an incredibly clean, organized facility. As someone, who has been frequenting this business CONSISTENTLY for nearly nine years - this is the best place you can bring your dog. Trust me!! They are true professionals, who LOVE dogs, and they will look after your pets as if they were their own. I don't know what I'd do without Camp Bow Wow on S. Jasmine! read more

I have boarded my dogs here for well over six years and take them there a few times a week to socialize and play. Everyone at this Camp Bow Wow consistently greets my dogs (and myself) with open arms, happy smiles and voice to my dogs, who then wag their tails out of excitement to go inside. I have never had an issue with this Camp Bow Wow, and had experience with other Camp Bow Wow's in the area, which I then stopped using after finding dear JoAnn (the owner), Russ (the manager), Jessica (JoAnn's daughter) and Leann. They are all fabulous. I am disappointed to see some of the other reviews here. Russ is highly educated and works at this business out of the kindness of his heart in a business he loves. Certainly no one runs this type of business for the money. This is a family owned business with JoAnn and Jessica pouring their hearts and souls into the business with the wisdom of Russ who runs it. We have had nothing but fabulous experiences here. The prices are not higher than others and in fact another dog day care a few blocks down off of Evans charges much higher prices than this one. Every time I am at Camp Bow Wow or looking on their cameras there are multiple people working the dog yards. Perhaps the people with the previous comments don't realize that the workers can see over the various enclosures all at once, but nonetheless they always have plenty of staff to supervise. I have a large and small dog and both have always done quite well there so they clearly know how to supervise various dog situations. Finally, my small dog was in a puppy mill for two years before I got her and was very high maintenance and extremely frightened of other people and dogs. They gradually introduced her to other animals and kept her separated with my large dog when she became too nervous to engage with other dogs. I completely credit Russ and JoAnn for bringing her "back", for helping her adjust to people and other animals. She loves going there now and playing with the other dogs and hands down benefitted greatly from their loving care. read more

We Love Camp Bow Wow! We are always greeted with a smile and all the staff knows my dog's name. This staff doesn't need a board with a picture of your dog and their name hanging on the wall like some other doggie day care places in this area...this staff loves dogs and knows each of them. I am always updated with information upon pick up such as who my dog played with and what type of dog he seems to prefer. The staff is also very helpful if you need any information or support with your dog. My dog had a very bad experience at a prior doggie daycare so I was really worried about trying another place. I am so glad I did. The staff at Camp Bow Wow understood our prior experience and really made me and my dog feel good about being at their daycare. In addition, they have cameras so you can check on your dog to make sure it is a safe place for you furry friend. I would never recommend leaving your loved animal at any daycare that doesn't allow you to see the area they play in or provide cameras so you can check in. Simply the staff here is great, friendly, kind, loves my dog maybe as much as I do and they place is always celan. read more

Well, it's been 2 weeks and they still haven't even bothered to check in. So here it goes. I highly advice everyone NOT to bring your dog to Camp Bow Wow. We sent the dogs there 2 weeks ago while we ended up being in limbo for a few nights with selling our house and waiting to get to the closing table on the new one. Matt got a call early Wednesday morning saying we needed to go to our vet because they were transporting Soko there. He was attacked by another dog and got a chunk of his ear ripped off. So as I was driving to the vet, I called and asked for the details to say what happened. The lady told me they let the dogs out for breakfast and then for morning playtime. Soko and another dog were standing facing each other when the other dog attacked Soko without warning and that they immediately pulled him off. I asked if Soko tried to go at the other dog at any point. She said no that Soko is so calm and well mannered she has never seen him be aggressive (Matt nor I have ever seen that side of Soko either, he submitted to rabbit at one point for crying out loud). I then asked how it worked for paying for the vet bill. I knew Camp is not held responsible because you sign a waiver at check in saying you are responsible for any vet bills that comes up. I thought the other party might have to help pay since Soko was not the aggressor in the situation. She asked me to hold and some guy got on. He was very short and had a rude tone right from saying, this is Russ. I asked him how the vet bill would be handled since the other party's dog was the aggressor. He proceeded to say the following in his rude voice tone. "Dogs can't talk, sweetie, so therefore we don't know what started it, for all we know it could have been your dog. Everyone is responsible for their own dogs and their own vet bills. Case closed. I was stunned by his words and shortness. I asked if he could at least tell me if the other dog was updated on his shots. His response? "Well, he would be here if he wasnt, now would he?!" Please note, I stayed as calm and polite as I could the entire time. I said goodbye and walked into the vet. Once I got in to the room where Soko was and got papers signed for the surgery that needed to be done. I asked the lady in the room if she was from Camp Bow Wow, she said she was the owner. I asked who Russ was and she told me her manager. I proceeded to inform her of the conversation and she said she would talk to him and have him call me. She did take one night off our stay because of her manager's rudeness. However, no follow up phone call to see how Soko made it through sugery. No phone call from Russ with an apology. No note in the mail hoping we will return to there business. Nothing! 7 years with them and that's how they treat their customers. I have refered multiple people to them. Mind blowing. I understand things happen and that I don't blame them for, however they handled talking to me is completely out of line and no reason for it. read more

My pup had his interview day today and passed, and since this place is close to our apartment that's a plus! At check in we requested a quick tour from the front desk girl and she showed us the whole place and was able and willing to answer all of my questions which is always a good thing as a paranoid pet parent =p Looks like the employees only use squirt bottles to break up any scuffles for the small dogs and have access to a hose for the bigger dogs, nothing more than that as discipline thank goodness! All the dogs are kept separated by size and they have access to an outdoor and indoor play area. They also have live web cams in the play areas so you get to see your pup while they're there which is beyond helpful with bringing me peace of mind, it just sends the message that they have nothing to hide! As a VCA employee I definitely appreciated my discount being honored as well :) The only thing is you have to brace yourself when you walk in the building for the strong urine smell but hey it's a doggy camp it's expected but the place overall looks well kept and clean. We are definitely excited about making this our pups go to day camp :) read more

Hello, I am writing this as a warning NOT to bring your dog to Camp Bow Wow. I brought my sweet girl to the Camp Bow Wow for a month and couldn't bare to leave her another moment. Among the many reasons why you should not bring your dog there is that has not one toy for the dogs to play with, and not one thing for them to play on. There is NOTHING for them to do. I assume that bordem is why the all the dogs bark non-stop until there they lose their voice. It is beyond loud there. This place also reeks of urine. One can only assume that they do not clean. My sweet girl never left my side willingly, I had to walk her to the back door-at which time she would walk to the rooms with her tail down and her ears back. She never once played-no room and nothing to do-nor did I ever see any dog playing there. They tried to convince me that she didn't play at her former daycare or she would be playing there. Well she is now at The Big Backyard where it is clean, the owner provides toys and things for them to play on. The owner is very wel edcuated about dogs and knows what they need to be stimulated and what is unhealthy for them (excessive barking like Camp Bow Wow has). She is knows that only deep chested dogs are at risk for bloat and therefor does not stick your dog in a kennel for an hour and a half after they eat (Camp Bow Wow does with ALL dogs). Your dog can eat and not lose playtime. At Camp Bow Wow your dog will be bored, nervous from all the barking and all around unhappy. My lil girl LOVES The Big Backyard, she can't wait to get inside when we pull up. Also at Camp Bow Wow the front dest staff has no idea what is going on in the back with the dogs, at The Big Backyard EVERY SINGLE employee knows what your dog is doing, who they are playing with, when they need to eat and which food is theirs-NOT the case at Camp Bow Wow. The Big Backyard is very close to Camp Bow Wow and it is the VERY BEST that doggy daycare has to offer. read more
