My mothers favorite breakfast
Robert D.

I have been going here for twenty years and never had less than a five star experience. The owners who work daily and the other couple employees treat you like family and I can't say enough good things about this family owned and operated breakfast diner. My 90 year old mother who passed in may of 2022 loved it there also and even when on hospice would ask for the eggs and bacon and homefries and coffee. She said it was sooooo good Go there once and you will be amazed

Picture this, a delightful little family run diner with delicious food, reasonless prices, friendly and polite staff, and a great atmosphere. You just imagined Cameo Diner. Came here for breakfast with my girlfriend at 10am on Saturday. The place was almost full, but we were quickly seated. The servers were attentive and friendly, I never had to ask for a refill. The only downside was the wait to get our food was a bit long. There seemed to be only one person cooking. I didn't mind too much though, as the atmosphere was great and I enjoyed my time there. When the food came out it was hot, fresh, and really really good. Parking was easy and available, even with how busy it was.

Meal: Breakfast, eat in All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 8 Food to Spend Value: 8 Quality of Service: 9 Overall Rating: 8 Anyone who has read my reviews knows I love breakfast, and there is nothing more satisfying than starting your day with an amazing one. I was heading out from Boston with the family for a day of hiking in the White Mountains, and I was looking for a great breakfast option that was both open early (before 8 AM) and on the way. Cameo Diner looked like a fabulous option so we stopped by a little after 7 AM. From the outside the diner admittedly doesn't look like much. Inside it has a bunch of tables on one side and the long bar on the other, giving it that classic diner feel. The menu options also hearken back to that, consisting of breakfast staples like eggs and bacon, pancakes and french toast, and omelettes, and not straying too far from traditional flavors. I love omelettes and decided to try the Bomb-Lette, which came with shaved steak, salami, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. It came with the option of home fries or beans and a choice of toast. Beans seemed a bit odd to me for breakfast, and I love home fries, so I went with that, along with cinnamon raisin toast. First, let's talk about the omelette. Dang. To date myself a bit, the Bomb-lette was "da bomb!!" I mentioned earlier that the menu may be a bit simple, but there was nothing simple about the flavor of this omelette. The ingredients melded perfectly and were distributed nicely throughout the omelette, ensuring every bite was consistently delicious. It was definitely one of the better omelettes I have had in quite some time. The home fries had a nice flavor and were a nice mix of tender and crispy. I might have liked a little more seasoning, but they were quite good, and the salsa I stole from my son's Mexican omelette was delicious on them. I was pretty stoked getting buttered cinnamon raisin toast, and it was also delicious. Speaking of my son, he loved the Mexican omelet. So did my father-in-law, who added both jalapenos and sausage to it. My daughter had the blueberry pancakes with bacon, and I have never seen her eat pancakes so quickly. They were big, blueberry hearty, and delicious. Everyone in our rather large group (we found a nice combo booth in the corner near the front door) thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast. Cameo Diner definitely has the mom and pop feel. The service was fabulous, as it was friendly, attentive, and fast. It definitely has a local feel, evident by the stares our car got as we pulled into the parking lot (we were clearly out of towners!). The quality of the food and the portions were great, and the prices were also quite good. I was very happy with my breakfast, and there is no doubt Cameo Diner will be our go to breakfast spot anytime we are heading north from Boston.

Friendliest diner in Lowell!! You can't help walking out of here without a smile on your face. The people behind the counter seen to know everyone's name and all about their family. It's quite amazing that in this time, there are still true neighborhood diners with this kind of love for the customer. The prices are great- the $5 special is always available. Quality of food is average and atmosphere is retro & worn, but it's the people that will keep you coming back for more. ;-)

The friendly atmosphere on its own deserves the five stars. The food is also great and delicious, comfort food at its best. It's great to have such great breakfast options in one town, Cameo is up there with Vic's and the Owl in a sort of Trinity where eggs, bacon and french toasts meet.

Family owned diner, husband cooking, wife and mother waitressing. Sign says "service with a smile" on the door and they never disappoint. Always a friendly hello and I can't believe all the names they can remember. I go here every few months, wish it was more becAuse I've never had a bad meal. Long counter and 10+ booths. I've never waited too long for service however everything is made to order. Great place, check it out.

Get the full boat. Fast service. Food is hot, and very good. All I would want in a neighborhood diner. (Pancakes are unreal, by the way)

Veggies creatively placed both inside and on top. -- Home fries: Plentiful and crisp, but I think no seasoning other than paprika. Bland. -- Pancakes: Nicely browned, but a little bland. Decent. Syrup handily in a table dispenser, so no need to ration. -- Sausage Links: Around 3" long and pretty much store-bought equivalent if not literally store-bought. Decent juiciness and flavor. -- Coffee: Better than Jiffy Lube, but most of the fast food places have better coffee. -- Service: Cordial but distant. Overall, good enough to get the job done if we're in the area and need breakfast now. But not destination-worthy, nor likely to join the breakfast rotation.
