Terrific breakfasts. Nicest staff in the world. Front table is the best.

They have a parking lot. That is a bonus when you are from out of town and driving a rental car. The service is outstanding, this is a locals joint where everyone knows each other. I had eggs Benedict which is my test for every breakfast spot. It was great. Eggs just perfect, and the sauce was wonderful. In and out in a hurry. Grew up in Somerville and moved to southern NH. Found the Cameo to be the best in the area. I find in NH they deep fry there homefries very lacking in taste. Every thing I have had at the Cameo is fresh an tasty. The owners are very friendly. I wish they offered lunch. read more

Been looking for a new breakfast place as Rosie's in NoCho was getting a little old. Saw some good reviews so my bf and I decided to give it a try. When we walked in we were greeted near instantly and very warmly, told we could sit anywhere we'd like. Services was great (waitress was the one who greeted us) and the food was very good. Had coffee roll, sausage/cheese omelet and home fries. Coffe roll was amazing that they get from a bakery in Melrose, omelet was superfresh and tasty. Only drawback was the homefries - need some seasoning. Bf had the "full boat" and said the eggs were also tasty, very fluffy. The hash was amazing (I tasted it) and the french toast very good. I would recommend their beans - waitress said it was a "french bean" and it was a little dif from your typical baked beans. Coffee was always refreshed and we did not feel rushed, which was nice. Would def go back but will "hold" the home fries. read more

Best breakfast in Lowell and the best atmosphere. There have been some days where I have ventured out to another local diner, only to be disappointed by food or service, the Cameo never disappoints. You are not going to get better service than from the crew here or a better breakfast - especially the breakfast sandwiches. read more

Best breakfast in Lowell and a wonderful, family-run neighborhood spot. You'll feel like a regular right away. The food is cooked to order and very reasonably priced. I like their eggs and the French toast, and the home fries are AMAZING. Crispy on the outside, and light and fluffy on the inside. The Cameo is small, but turnover is fast, and there's always room at the counter, so you shouldn't have to wait. Everyone who works there is related, and they're some of the nicest and most welcoming people in the restaurant business. This place is a real Lowell gem. read more

Breakfast is my favorite! And now I have new favorite breakfast place! Had the big breakfast of eggs, bacon, home fries, hash, and French toast. The eggs were cooked exactly how I like them (I'm kind of picky). The French toast wasn't doused in powdered sugar that I didn't ask for. It was just like I'd make it myself. The hash and potatoes were so good - not overcooked or pre-cooked. I've lived in Lowell for five years and I'm sorry it took so long to try this place over other local places. My sister and I stopped here for breakfast last Sunday on our way to see the Van Gogh exhibit at the Clark Museum. What a welcoming place. The service was excellent, and I have never had so many blueberries on a pancake! The owner greeted us and chatted on our way out; his teenage son, who was the cook, was responsible for all the blueberries, which his father proudly acknowledged. This one grows on you. By appearance it's nothing but an old-fashioned greasy spoon, but let it grow on you -- wait until you eat a meal or listen to the waitress dote on elderly neighborhood customers. Had blueberry pancakes at the peak of the blueberry season and they were fantastic. Today was my first time here and it was one of the best diners I've ever eaten at. When we first walked in we were greeted by the cook a lady behind the bar and our waitress. The food tasted fresh and looked fresh as well the orange juice was so good it tasted so fresh. Our waitress was so good she checked on us a lot and it was very helpful. When we sat down and looked at our menu the cook looked at us and said order with confidence all of our food is fresh and it made us feel way better about eating there. The staff really made us feel at home. I got the hangover sandwich that I highly recommend it was so good and my girlfriend got the full boat and it was so much food she couldn't finish it. You can tell that all the customers that go in there are regulars and really love it there and I can see why. I am a frequent flyer at Cameo's but I think I had my best experience there this morning. They know how I like my coffee and served up my usual with typical cheerfulness. There's always a good crowd joking and such - good background to my serious Wall St Journal. And then the lights flickered....3 times...and then went out for good. Did the staff get all upset? Not really - they went into problem solving mode - they raised the blinds, brought out the flashlights. I was sitting in the back and had a great view of the customers, grill and front all silhouetted in black. We really could hardly see anything. I used my phone light to read the paper. And then it started to rain - more like pour. With the peacefulness in the diner and the sound of the rain - I felt like I was getting a massage for my mind. Cameo is truly a magical place. read more
