    Haunt house roller coaster

This is where I take my son to scare him, lol. Just kidding. Actually, we go every year more for a novelty experience than anything else. I remember my first trip to Camden Park when I was ten years-old. Not much has changed. My favorite memory was going on the haunted house roller coaster with my gramma. So, I always make my son do that on one of our trips. He enjoys the food most of all. Last time I was there, I really enjoyed the gift shop. I love picking up memorabilia anywhere we go. So, I got a cool little magnet. We also do the swan ride. More for my sake than my son's. Last time, he got a kick out of the putt putt golf, too. It doesn't matter if it hasn't been updated since 1990. It is a West Virginia legend. May Camden Park live forever.

Park map. You won't find one in the guide they give you, so enjoy this.

Let me start with a simple summary, followed by a longer explanation: for those who cannot travel out of the area for various reasons, coming here may be a decent source of entertainment for younger children. For those traveling through the area or those with the capability to visit other theme parks, I would strongly recommend against coming here. It's a dying shell of what may have been something at one time but is now a sad shadow of a place. Let's start with value comparison: this place is only a few bucks cheaper than admission to other theme parks in neighboring states. The fact they think they can justify such high prices underlines the one thing the park has going for it: there are no other local options, or even other choices within two hours of here. The lack of alternative choices helps to explain both the high prices and the obvious lack of upkeep the park feels obligated to maintain. Let's talk about the rides. For younger kids, they have a good number, and they seem safe enough. Anyone over the age of eight is going to have a harder time finding something worth their time here, with the only quasi-new ride being a spinning-on-a-track ride which I would expect to see at a traveling carnival rather than at a permanent theme park. Many of the rides still work on the physical power of the employees, which seems extremely outdated (and potentially injurious). The few rides for older individuals don't seem well-maintained, and the skyride is quite literally a lawsuit waiting to happen considering how many of the individual cars are damaged. They are one cracked metal bar away from a million-dollar lawsuit or, worse still, a customer fatality. There are very few employees here, probably to cut down on costs (as they seem to be fans of said cost-cutting). This will make it difficult for customers who have questions, issues, or the need for special accommodations. Food options here are bare, and you would be better off eating before you get here. This is a shame, since concessions are one of the few ways this place could hope to produce enough of an income to revitalize the park. I would recommend that they start with normal theme park fare and then maybe incorporate some unique fried foods (like fried candy), since people are usually willing to splurge on such things at theme parks. Overall, this place is an extremely depressing spectacle for anyone who has been to another theme park before. However, if you're desperate for entertainment for young children, have money to burn, and can't drive out of the area, there might be enough justification to come here. Just stay off the skyride please. Overall: 1.5 stars ---------- Pros: - Only nearby choice for theme parks (which is pretty depressing). - Plentiful free parking. Cons: - Unreasonably expensive considering poor quality of offerings. - Several unsafe rides or at least partially-broken rides. - Food offerings are minimal. - Grounds are poorly taken care of and unclean (trash cans were overflowing with bees having taken them over). - Very few staff members mean that any issues you have here will likely not be addressed.

I've seen some negative reviews about this place so I'd like to clear up some things: 1. This park is best for kids ages 5-9 years old. 2. Yes they have old rides but that's the beauty of it. Rustic and classic feeling. 3. Price is perfect 4. If you're an adult or over age of 9 understand it's not your park. This is a park for kids I call this my hillbilly theme park. We had an awesome time here! We brought our 6 year old And 5 year old. Typically when we go to cedar point or kings island we are restricted to the kiddy spaces due to how small the 5 year old is but at this park- HE RODE EVERY RIDE! It took us a little over 4 hours which allowed us to ride each ride once and a handful of "can we ride this again?" The kids had a blast and that's all that matters to us. They have some classic rides that brought my husband and I back to our young years - the scrambler, the tilt-a-whirl, the roller coaster that doesn't have a huge drop but it's enough of one for the kids. Totally worth the drive. The concessions are about what you'd expect for concessions at a park (expensive ). Parking is $5 and you need to have cash (they do not take card for parking ). Luckily I had some cash that day. Most of the concession stands have credit card machines here. Excellent experience . Our kids are still talking about it and my husband was In shock the kids were able to ride all the rides!!

Took my grandchildren there for my birthday. They loved it!!!! So did I.Watching the joy and excitement was so wonderful it brings back so many memories for me as a child and the happiness my daughter experienced when she was a child.I hope Camden Park is open for many years to come. The refreshment stands are way to pricey, kinda feels like your in Disney!!! The park was very clean. There was a man making balloon animals for kids,my granddaughter carried hers around all day.Take your children, grandchildren or a friend you're sure to have a great time!!!!

We visited the park after being away for over 20yrs. We appreciated that the park was well maintained, clean, and staffed, we could not help but to notice the smell from the nearby sewer plant. The rides were not very busy for a Saturday in early June and there were many rides for small children. However, we questioned the safety of most rides and especially the haunted house which was manually stopped by a large employee as each car finished the circuit. Small children were admitted for free but paying $20 for each adult was to much based on the conditions of the rides and selections. Drinks were also expensive as well as food. I appreciated that the park was open but it could be improved upon for sure.

We went with my daughter's class. I don't think it's "technically" opened yet. This place gets weaker every year. I noticed they didn't have the bumper cars anymore. They don't have much anymore. I keep singing the song Stuart by the Dead Milkmen to myself and smugly chuckling. Their main roller coaster is the Big Dipper. It's actually rather terrifying because you know it's LONG overdue for a major wreck. My wife FORBADE my daughter to ride it. I heard other parents with the same lament. Lol. It's a freezing cold rainy day in late May (thank you scum bag Al Gore for all this global 'warming'. You do know if you had carried your home state we wouldn't have had the other globalist scum bag Bush to ruin our country. Pick your poison) My feet are soggy and cold. I go into the ONE restroom. Aw shucks! All the hand dryers are broken. I may stand corrected but I'm pretty sure they hand dryers didn't work when I was here with my 8th grade class trip some 33 years ago!!! ONE STAR!
