The Kensington area is very diverse and therefore I was not surprised to find an establishment such as this situated in the heart of Prescott Road. This place represents somewhere that African people residing in Liverpool can go and visit and taste some of their homelands authentic foods. None of this happened as I was waiting for more than 5 minutes and the staff just kept passing in front of me. No acknowledgement, greetings OR thank you for waiting communication from any of the staff members. Since there was no action and I was left there standing, that made me feel that kitchen 50 six is least bothered for business especially under the current COVID climate where restaurants are trying to maximize sales under non lock down period. I decided to sit down on table number 7 which is right in front of the entrance door. My wife joins me and I grabbed the menu from he table behind me and we waited and waited and waited for someone to approach us to take the order. Now it's nearly 10 minutes and I started waiving my hands as high I could reach to attract attention of the staff but still no response, no eye contact and no effort made at all to approach us. Enough humiliation, I decided to go to the coffee counter and engage conversation with the staff. After explaining our very sad experience to them the lady just said that you should wait by the door to be seated. That political response did not sit with us and we decided to walk out. It's such a shame that your restaurant decor does not correlate at all with your staff hospitality manners and experience. Management Please invest in quality staff who respect your customers and not turn them away. We are helping local business to stay afloat by supporting them. I decided to order cheesy garlic bread and a chip, ordered a kids chicken strips and chips meal and hubby ordered lasagne with salad and garlic bread. First of all it was the longest wait we've ever waited on food we waited practically 1 hour to get our food , the kids meal took 45 minutes to come, terrible waiting time to get food especially when there wasn't many people in the restaurant. When the food came I was given my garlic bread with cheese and they forgot to bring me my chips I had to go up after 10 mins to say they forgot them, they came 5 mins after. The garlic bread was completely covered in watery runny cheese , I love cheese on my garlic bread but this was a bit much and oily and watery was the cheese also the garlic bread was an awful taste and was burnt badly at the bottom, the chips were the only nice thing in my meal. The lasagne was a good big portion and tasted ok also covered in the cheese, the garlic bread with the lasagne was undercooked and pale . The kids chicken strips weren't the best either , sloppy chicken , chips were nice. Such a pity the food wasn't good as kitchen 50 six is a nice big restaurant, lots of different teas and coffees to choose from. There is also seating outside , parking on street if you can find a space .
