I wish I could give this church 0 stars. I have been attending this church off and on for about 5 years and seem like I've run into discouragement after the next. Nevertheless, I looked pass them and wanted to be obedient to God and stay rooted in the church. Over the last 2 years, since the Covid pandemic surge, I fill off track with attendance completely. However that did not interrupt my relationship with the Lord, thank God. Anyway, there was a recent situation that was 'The straw that broke the camels back' for me. I had found myself in a small hardship and reach out to Pastor Rowland for help/resources for food/groceries for myself and small school age child. I wasn't looking for a handout and I felt completely uncomfortable with asking for help in the first place since I have been getting by just fine before this. But since I had no means of support nowhere else as a single mom and needed food for my child, I put my feelings aside so seek help. As believers, we are supposed to do more than just pray for others if we are able. When asking for help, Pastor Rowland said, "I can't help you with that and the church doesn't do anything like that. Plus, I've been burned too many time in the pass with helping people so I don't do stuff like that." I felt sick to my stomach and extremely discouraged with what he said. A simple I apologize, but I can't help but let me offer you pray would have been enough. Again, I didn't feel well asking for help in the fist place so an explanation wasn't necessary because it made me feel worst. I friendly reminded him that WWJD and that we should never hold such unforgiveness and malice towards others that have hurt/let us down as believers. Not only that, it's not right to hold the next person accountable for others before them's shortcomings. He then said, "don't try to give me the guilt trip because you don't know me and what I've been through." I reply, thank and that okay. I prayed for him, myself, and for whatever reason, he couldn't/didn't want to come in agreement with me in Jesus name after I prayed. He keep going on about I understand and what do you want me to do...That really break my heart. If this church has memebers in leadership like this who aren't doers of God's word they are not in ministry for the right reasons. We to be an extension of God's love. And they haven't been. I forgive them anyway. I would encourage you if you are looking for a loving church in the area to grow in your walk as a Christian, this may not be the school for you. But pray about it and May God bless you. read more
