The store itself isn't big but has the essentials such as chocolate and Famous magazine ;) also milk and other necessities. A few weeks ago my friend and I went to pump up her car tyres (yes, two girls with no clue about cars getting grease everywhere and making no progress). The shop assistant kindly helped us out and we were off on the road again. She was very helpful and didn't mind showing us what to do. Another good thing about Shell is if you shop at Coles your receipt will give you discount off your petrol per litre. I also find that Shell tends to be a bit cheaper than other servos.

This local petrol station is the one I go to all the time for my cheap petrol with my Woolies…read morevoucher. They are always the cheapest around me I find, and it's never very busy which is good, especially for driver sided pumps. They also have air and water as usually, plenty of pumps with all types of petrol, limited snacks inside as its really small and friendly staff. It's not open 24/7 though so if you need petrol at 1am on a week night, go elsewhere.

The grocery selection is vast and although expensive like all late night convenience stores, the choices are pretty good. Staff are nice and preference the petrol customers over the other customers which is such a relief, there is nothing worse than being stuck behind a customer who wants to buy a little bit of everything as you tap your toes thinking of all the other things you could be doing.

Sorry but I don't: - buy petrol from here as I think they don't offer cheap prices and I don't want yet another discount card taking up room in the wallet. (Besides I'm happy my local Caltex and Woolworths connections (no matter how contrived). - Or Wok in a Box, personally I don't like the taste. As I've mentioned before 'each to their own'. But I do like: - Happy Wash :-) This is a valuable service which I think is not too expensive even for a four wheel drive. So what I do is make a booking the day before, get up early on a Sunday morning, be there by 9am, hand over the keys, have my Happy Wash rewards card stamped, get a free complimentary coffee, buy myself a healthy apricot bun for breakfast and The Age, sit myself down and wait happily whilst my car gets a complete make over. Note: At the end of the Happy Wash stamps you get a freebie. - Brumbies Bakery, nice and tasty and good coffee. - Subway make a good sandwish/roll and is a reasonably healthy option and a convenient quick lunch or dinner. Boasting a large premise on site, patrons don't have to queue long before they get access to the pump. You can feel the energy in this servo, as men religiously wash their cars at Happy Wash, family gather to pick pastries and bread at C Cafe and Brumby's respectively, and school kids form a line for their glass of Chill. The 24 hour supermarket is top notch, for working mums who need a quick pit stop of groceries or for a quick dessert pick me up. Unlike traditional car washes where it is fully automated, you actually get out of the car, insert money into the wall, and manually clean using a spray and broom attached to a hose (You're an ideas man Steve). Happy wash guarantees that your car will remain scratch and damage free, during and after the process, (but then again I was taught a good worker should never blame their tools). The station also claims to use recycled water (whatever that means). A separate work station allows you to vacuum and perfume the interior of your car. It's a convenient service for those that procrastinate cleaning, but you're really just paying for the use of tools and materials.

The range of items available in store isn't extensive, but adequately meets your basic needs. The prices are above those of nearby supermarkets, but they do have the occasional special deal (usually on canned drinks or snacks). As part of the On The Run franchise, this service station is open 24 hours a day. As such, it's a convenient place to go when there's nothing else open and you're either suffering from junk food cravings, have run out of milk or bread, or are desperately in need of toiletries and personal care items. When I'm low on petrol, regardless of where I am, I'll do my best to hold off on buying fuel before I reach Erindale. The reason I do this is because it's an absolute pleasure talking to the staff. Even in the early hours of the morning, when people are expectedly at their grumpiest, the employees here are always in high spirits. On many occasions I've had long, meaningful chats with the people behind the counter and they've shared some great stories. I'm equally happy to converse and provide some human interaction, as I can't imagine working the graveyard shift at a petrol station would be overly exciting. If you're lucky and you go while Yogesh is working, stick around and have a chat with him - he's an excellent guy and he'd be thankful for making his day a little more interesting!
