I like to call this the Phoenix Caltex; rising from the ashes, of
a former dingy, daggy and dated service station. (Not real ashes, mind-
as that may prove to be a disaster waiting to happen. A corner servo;
in front of st Silas church, and the intersection of Ferrars and Bridport
streets. This Caltex often offers "two for one" pricing specials/deals on various
junk food and sugary drinks.
It has very basic grocery stock if you need to grab something in a
hurry. Otherwise it sells magazines, newspapers, drinks, and the afore-
mentioned assortment of confectionery, chips, chocolate bars, and various caffeinated liquid sugar beverages. Staff here rotate, but all are helpful.
It also sells the regular servo paraphernalia.
It can take quite some courage to surmount the correct tact and diplomacy
to correctly enter this service station when it is "pumping" ha, ha a joke
for all of you! When it is busy I mean. When you are needing to fill up.
A lot of the time cars can be in all different directions, and there is generally
a lot of honking, tooting, reversing and general confusion, in not only getting
in here, but out. Many a time cars can be in multiple directions all trying to
use the entry/exit points at once, simultaneously. read more
