History
Established in 2016.
Opgericht in 2016.
Back in 2016, I was searching for something more. I had left my
job in the police force and found myself craving both structure
and freedom, a way to stay grounded while helping others grow.
Calisthenics gave me that: a discipline that requires focus,
patience and presence. But there wasn't a single place in
Amsterdam where people could train calisthenics with real
coaching, clear progress tracking and a supportive community. So
I created it. Calisthenics Amsterdam started with outdoor
sessions in local parks, just a small group and a shared hunger
to get stronger. Over time it grew into a full indoor gym with a
clear mission: to help busy adults get stronger through smart
programming, coaching, and a culture of consistency.
Meet the Business Owner: Wesley K.
I started Calisthenics Amsterdam because I wanted to create the
kind of gym I couldn't find myself. One that goes beyond just
workouts. A place where structure, coaching and community come together to help people grow, not just physically but mentally too. My passion is helping others build real strength with purpose. Not chasing ego, but mastering the basics, moving with intention, and staying consistent. For me it's about creating a space where people feel seen, supported and challenged to become their best version.
