They constructed a fence on the border between my property and my neighbors. These are specific issues with the lumber: * Many of vertical pickets in this fence have cracks, some have mold on them, and are defective. * Many of posts are also defective. They have cracks and all of them have not been properly cemented and secured to the ground. * Some of the bottom kickboards have long cracks. These are specific issues with very poor quality of contractor's work: * Many pickets' bottoms are not leveled straight * There is a piece of wood that is laying free and has not been screwed or nailed anywhere * There are screws that are coming through the wood with its sharp end and can injure someone I included just a few pictures to demonstrate the defective materials they used and their very poor quality of work. After filing a complaint with California licensing board, the inspector came to inspect the fence and the contractor paid us to repair the fence per the inspector's report. I had some wholes in my wood panels they don't make anymore and he was able to replace it and paint over it like it didn't happen. Our joint fence was damaged and part of it fell down during a wind storm, so we contacted California Crews for an estimate. Jordan came out to give the estimate. He seemed to be knowledgeable regarding fence construction and said that he could construct what we wanted in 2 days (per photos that we showed him). Jordan and Derrick started working on our fence 3/22/2017 and it was completed 31 days later on 4/22/2017. Most days Jordan showed up 30 mins-2 hours late from the start time he told us. Other days he cancelled his work on the day of due to personal reasons or because he fell behind on other jobs. He told us multiple times that he did not want to delay the other jobs. Jordan told us that it was Derrick's first fence, yet he left Derrick alone to do the framing and a major mistake was made. The mistake was not corrected and was instead "covered up" by using additional grass boards. Derrick complained multiple times about Jordan micro-managing him and Jordan complained multiple times about the extra money that Derrick cost him on this and other projects. Jordan would call my husband's cellphone so that he could face time with Derrick while he was at another job site. We had issues with over 15 pickets splitting within the first week and the cap raised a good 1/2 inch within 2 days of install. Jordan sent Derrick out alone to work on the issues, but nothing was completed. Jordan came out on his own to work on the issues saying that he fired Derrick due to Derrick hitting a gas line on another job and costing Jordan $3,000 out of pocket. Then on the last day Derrick showed up with Jordan to work. Too much employee drama that I did not need to be a part of. As far as the quality of materials...we were told that everything would come from Denair Lumber Yard during the estimate. Then part-way through the fence, Jordan told us that he got pickets and caps from Home Depot and Lowe's because the lumber yard "ran out of redwood". On the last day, with the issues still piling up, I asked Jordan to see if the owner, Joel, could come out and see the fence in person to give his feedback on how to fix problems since Jordan stated "I'm at a loss for what to do at this point". Jordan called Joel, but Joel was not willing to come out to see the project in person. I asked Jordan to finish the fence that day, regardless of the multiple issues, because 31 days was long enough and I could not keep taking work off to allow him access to the backyard. When I went back outside, Jordan and Derrick were gone, their truck was gone and my RV access was wide open. When I tried to close my RV access, I found that the grass board they installed overlapped the hinge and did not allow the fence to close. I called someone else out to fix that issue. I then went around my backyard cleaning up their cigarette butts, nails, screws and sawdust. I called Joel and spoke with him regarding the issues. I asked, again, that he come out to see the work that was done. Joel said that he would set up a time to come out, look at the fence, and that a chipped grass board could be replaced at that time. Skip ahead 6 weeks and I have not heard from Joel again. From the lack of follow up, it appears that Joel is not concerned about the quality of work or hearing constructive feedback regarding a project that his workers did. Very disappointing; especially after seeing the great reviews that other people have left. As it is, we did not get the fence that we asked for and we have a fence that requires corrective work. read more

Had Jordan of California Crews fencing crew rip down and build a new custom built overlapping fence 90 feet across the back of our property when it was pushed down during the last storm, and we are very pleased with his detailed work. Not only did it turn out beautifully, he made sure every picket and line on that fence was level! He actually put a level to each picket and showed me. Our property unfortunately was not even, it was lower on one side and progressively went up, Jordan made the adjustments, and if you look at the fence you would never know. Had the same fence put in by another company 2 years ago, and now there are holes everywhere ,Jordan took into consideration the shrinking of the boards, so he overlapped substantially so it will not have the holes the other fence has. Thank you Jordan for being a stickler to detail! Awesome job. UPDATE!!! Okay, update for this review. Although the work was detailed, I did not explain the time it took to complete the work. I didn't want to complain about the time it took, as he did a nice job on the fence. I did see the previous people who complained about his delays and unanswered calls I decided to give him a chance. When we met he sounded like his work would be detailed and said it would only take a couple of days. I had the time so I didn't complain. We met Jordan of California Crew on approximately Feb. 24, 2017. After 3 price changes, because our property level was crooked he finally finished the back and side approximately March 18th, that's almost a month later. Asked him while finishing up if he could then do our front fence and gate (when he fixed the side fence, the front was pulled to the left so we couldn't close the gate which overlapped with the fence). He said yes and gave me a quote. He had to do some other jobs as he had already scheduled them, which was understandable so we said okay we'll wait. Well after 7 scheduled days all with no-shows and no answers with phone calls and texts we had enough. Now he calls and said he can come, but with price will go up because the price of wood went up. Go figure. And this is after we already got another fencer come and do it in 1 day. read more
