Will Slankard did a wonderful job installing my A/C unit in July just before the heat wave. I knew he'd be busy and he did let me know there was a delay in getting the installation. But he was true to his word and quote. He & his crew got on the job and followed up as needed when I had questions. He also put a 'smart' thermostat in which made a world of difference in managing the system while at home or away. I am now having him look at installing a gutter system as mine needs replacement after 20 years. Will is dependable, respectful of my home and me. He's a joy to have in our community. read more

Well....in seeing these measly reviews over six years!! I can say with certainty that This young "horrible" man and crew SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS!! PLEASE do NOT hire this man, Will !!!! It's been nearly two years that this person Will, who took over for his father, still hasn't finished the job!!! He said we needed a new compressor......so we paid top dollar for a new compressor......guess what....since Will would not come to finish the jobe LAST YEAR we hired another heating and air crew. The person from new Heat/Air said that, unequivically, the compressor IS TOO BIG FOR Our 3,oooft house!!!!! Because the ducts inside walls are not big enough for the size compressor!!!!! My husband asked him several times to get a Rep to consult with. He never did!!! Then he came back to "fix" the problem by cutting holes in our floor and wall to install two more registers!!!! He just informed us that he will not be coming back to finish the job!! WTF!!!! We have given him 10 chances to finish the job he started!! Now we will need to take him to small claims court, call the Better Business bureau and the Contracting License Board....We are not like that!!! We can not use this size compressor!! And we paid $9,000.00 for compressor, and another $8,000.00 for the "fix" to our heating cooling unit. AND it still doesn't work properly!!! Now we have to pay for a SMALLER compressor and someone to take out the perfectly new one and buy another new smaller one and install!!! again WTF!!! If he would simply have integrity and morals and know how to conduct business I would happily change my Review! Almost 2 years!! And we are seniors on a fixed income!!! We liked Will before this happened. He simply is unable to say "I don't know, ill find someone who does...or a REP" We've had electrical guys, painters, appliance guys, etc, say they don't know and then go find out how to.....!!!! read more

In February Will Slankard came over on a Saturday and gave me a quote for a new HVAC unit and installation (at a great price BTW) and promised me heat by the following Saturday. I was expecting at least a six week wait but sure enough I was warm and cozy in my house for the first time in 20 years by the next Saturday. He and his team were prompt and very tidy. you never would of known they were there. Will is a great at communications and responded to my text asap. I couldn't recommend this company more. read more

Will Slankard came over this afternoon to install a smart thermostat at our home. It was a wonderful experience working with Calaveras Climate Control. First, he arrive promptly and assured us that he would be able to get us, the least tech savvy customers, on line and operating our thermostat. He patiently went through the set up while remaining patient and friendly through the process. He explained that we need to be aware of regularly changing our filters as a maintenance item. He assured us that our heater was operating properly, the sign of his professionalism. We are now sitting comfortably warm and completely satisfied with the process. This is the GO TO for Heating / AIR / Sheetmetal. Called on Saturday because our heater stopped working. It was 35 degrees out and colder in the house. Will answered the phone personally and said he would be their within the hour, half an hour later he showed up. Will looked at the heater and found that the thermocoupler was bad, he had the part on his truck and he was finished in less than thirty minutes. THIS WAS ON A SATURDAY MORNING! We will keep their contact information for any other needs in the future. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND CALAVERAS CLIMATE CONTROL. read more

Disappointing experience. Clearly does not have the in-depth knowledge in dealing with Furnace units. Dealt with Bill (William). Multiple visits / overpriced parts and HVAC unit still does not work/actually now worse than before. CCC Stopped responding to phone calls or e-mails when asked to come back and fix the problem. DO NOT USE! There are better options out there. Very disappointing experience. Update: suggest not to ignore the one star reviews. Had somebody else re-check the work done and my suspicion confirmed. Issue was none related to the control board replaced by CCC. $450 for nothing! read more

I called Calaveras Climate Control this morning becuase our furnace wasn't lighting. Bill took the call and then after checking availability called me back 15 minutes later and let me know that Will could be at my house within the hour. Will arrived, assessed the situation, determined that our prior air conditioning contractor had incorrectly hooked up the heating control to the thermostat, and corrected the problem. He as very friendly and professional and all told, it took about 20 minutes. When I asked him how much I owed, Will waived me off and asked me to remember them next time we needed service. Phenomenal experience. I will definitely use CCC when we need service again! read more

Fantastic and trustworthy service!! Cannot thank them enough for coming out quickly when our heater failed, diagnosed the issue and needed to obtain a part, which most distributors no longer carry. They found it in Stockton, had it picked up, and installed for timely resolution of our issue and changed our filters! Very personable, both Will and his brother Rob are wonderful! I see other reviews that aren't so good but in my opinion that was then, this is now. I've used Will twice in the last year and I' 100% satisfied. Both times he returned my call quick, showed up on time, fixed my problem quick, and charged me a reasonable price. This is exactly what we want from a contractor. Highly recommended. read more

Not quite sure why Climate Control has gotten the knocks, but I have to say I'm incredibly impressed. Senior Bill is battling Parkinsons, but son Will was our go-to guy. He's younger, but licensed and trade certified. Can not say anything better about this crew. They showed up on time to install a new central heating system for us, competitively priced, and covered all bases as far as permits go. Worked clean, responsive to questions. I've worked with lots of contracting crews over the years and would suggest you overlook the other reviews. Will's looking to make a go of it and he deserves your business. read more

No not use Calaveras Climate Control. They request the money up front and then never finish the job. In fact, they came to install my wall heater and broke the value while doing it. They left it not working and never came back or returned my calls. They did cash my check immediately and took the money. I had to pay a professional to come and install it correctly. They also claim to do metal work. At the same time, I ask for my down spout to be replaced. Bill did a hack job that ran 3/4 down the side of the house and had the water flow back into the house. He then ask for payment. Again, I had to hire a professional to so the job right. Very disappointing. read more

Will Slankard and his father Bill have taken care of our HVAC system in Arnold for eight years, through Bill's battle with Parkinson's for most of that time. I understand that Bill has retired, but the service and knowledge that his son Will provides is top notch. Prompt, punctual, polite and very honest in every transaction, I trust this firm implicitly. I also know that I have saved a lot of money by dealing with Calaveras Climate Control because they have fixed older equipment inexpensively when others would have suggested replacing the whole system. Will and his crew installed an air conditioning and heating unit in our home that previously had electric wall heaters and no air. They showed up when they said they would and completed the job on time. They went above and beyond our expectations. We found them to be trustworthy and easy to work with. They were always considerate of our wishes. The heating system has been working perfectly. We have not needed to use the air conditioner yet. We are happy we chose them for the job. read more

I have a commercial building in Arnold and have called Will a number of times when tenants have had AC problems. He is always quick to get out there to assess the issue and get it repaired. BEWARE! DO NOT HIRE CALAVERAS CLIMATE CONTROL! Volatile technician Bill (William OWNER?)! I waited for Bill for an hour and a half when he was supposed to be at my property in 45 minutes. I had poor cell phone reception, but did get a message from him that he wasn't coming unless I returned his call (appointment already verified). I could only text and told him I had been waiting. He called and rudely said he was still 20 minutes away. I told him I was out of time. Then suddenly he said he was only 10 minutes away. He said to tell him NOW if I couldn't be there and he would turn around. I said I'm sorry, I have to leave. Then he abruptly said "why don't you just go and f**k yourself!" As a woman, I was shocked and scared at the same time, and hung up the phone. I still cannot believe that a person that performs public services behaves this way. No matter what his life circumstances are, this was so entirely inappropriate. Again, I am warning you to NOT HIRE CALAVERAS CLIMATE CONTROL! Dangerous person behind the wheel!! read more

I don't understand a business that tells you they can do the work and will send you a quote for work and then never do it. I called on 4 different times to get this information and they never return a phone call. Very unprofessional to someone who was willing to pay for a new furnace. I guess Climate Control is doing so well, they don't need the business. At least show the common decency to call a client back. Not impressed at all and I will share my experience with others. read more
