We asked about windsurfing and after he described how much kitesurfing had changed the last few years, we opted to take lessons on that instead. My husband & I did the introductory 1 hour lesson and our two teenage daughters did a full 3 hour lesson the first day. Both loved it, but the next day when we went back only one decided to do another 2 hours. By the end, she was starting to get on the board and actually do it. If we had had another day, she would have been good to go after we got home to SF. All the instructors were friendly and very helpful. They were all incredibly patient and positive - giving valuable feedback in an empowering way. We all had a lot of fun and I'm hoping to return so I can learn it myself another time when we have a good 4 or more days to really learn it well. The bay where they teach you is perfect in every way - good wind, shallow and warm water and you move parallel to the beach so you are never far out in the water while you are learning. I highly recommend both this sport and this business. It was a great discovery on our trip and something we will never forget!
