We were really excited to find an authentic Mexican panaderia in the area, as we love Mexican baked goods. We tried the tres leches cake, the conchas, and the orejas. All were really good. While we would have preferred a little less leches in our slice of cake (it was sitting in a pool of milk), the flavors were beautiful. The concha we tried was perfection - soft and subtly sweet. The oreja was perhaps a bit over baked, but it was still quite enjoyable. Overall, our mouths were quite happy, and we are already looking forward to a return visit. Pro-Tip: You should really eat these fresh treats within a few hours of purchase, as our leftovers did not taste as good the next day (especially the concha). read more

We were in town for a couple of days and were hoping to get a birthday cake for a family member in a really short notice. The folks at Cake Studio had an amazing tres leches cake ready for us almost instantaneously and were so incredibly nice! When we stopped by we grabbed some choco-flan as well and it was delicious! Not overly sweet and everyone who tried a bite loved it! I'm going to have to strongly disagree with the reviewer who said $8 for a slice of their cake wasn't worth it and that they didn't think Cake Studio would be around for much longer. I would have happily paid $15 for my choco-flan slice -- it was that delicious! And I hope they stick around for 100 years longer than Safeway :) We'll be stopping by for more treats every time we're in Poulsbo! read more

Okayy, as a Mexican used to the limited pan dulce in this area, I gotta say... this bread is one of the tastiest around. Especially the pan de maíz (aka corn bread). The price is a little more expensive than we're used to but it's worth it because it's good. We will keep coming back. read more

I ordered because someone in the JBLM Spouse FB page recommended them. I looked at the FB page and saw good reviews and cakes looks good. I personally look for quality and good taste. By quality I mean clean look. I do not care how much a cake costs me as long as I am getting quality of work. I drove 1.10 hrs to their location this morning to pick up this cake. When I arrived I asked to look at the cake and I could see the work was far from clean. None of the cake they have posted on the social media show unclean work. So, not only I was surprised but also very disappointed. The older lady behind the desk asked the gentleman to translate, but luckily I speak Spanish so I was able to let them know my frustrations with the looks of the cake. I overheard her say "give her a discount" as they both said they could see and understand why it wasn't happy with the cake. There's wholes in the back of the cake, and it looks toile the back side touched something. Discount wasn't honored. After tax I believe I paid around $169 for a cake that is not clean work. The party is in 2 hours and I can only hope there's a least quality in the taste. I could see this for a "lower cost" but not for this prize. I most definitely will never order from them. read more

As a Mexican it is hard to find authentic Mexican food / bakery. We tried their conchas and pan de elote and it was delicious. I can tell they bake their pastries fresh every day. The confection I ordered from this place for my friend's birthday was UNBELIEVABLE! It consisted of one chocolate layer cake covered with a layer of vanilla flan! The cake was moist, and the consistency of the flan was absolutely perfect. The cake was then decorated with a whipped cream edge and Happy Birthday was spelled out in buttercream frosting. The cake came with a carmelized sugar sauce in a little covered container, but we didn't even need it, as the cake was so perfectly moist already. This was the most delicious cake I've eaten in a long time, something like an ethnic Boston cream pie. I HIGHLY recommend it, and I will be returning to this bakery the next time I need a birthday cake! Next time I'm going to get the tres leches cake, which I am told is also very good. This place had a small assortment of fairly authentic Mexican pan dulce (sweet bread). Which talking to the employees makes lots of sense since the baker originates from Mexico. The bread was not overly sweet, which is typical because the drink is the sweet companion to mexican bread. This bread is normally had at breakfast with coffee or Mexican hot chocolate. The bread here was fluffy and delicious. It also didn't make me feel like I ate a cup of sugar the way Sluys bakery does, although Sluys is also amazing. This place just made me feel less guilty. According to the employees, the variety here changes from day to day so everyday is a surprise. We also tried a piece of the "tres leches" cake and flan and they were much sweeter and very good. All the bread was freshly baked and as we were ordering, the employees were bringing out freshly baked bread from the back. Overall, the experience we had was great and the bread reminded us of our previous trips to Mexico. This is a nice upcoming bakery with a lot to offer our small community. read more
