We absolutely love cage combat acadamy! As soon as you walk in the door you're greeted with a smile from Jacky who is amazing! She is seriously so nice, helpful and on top of everything. You'll notice right away that the gym and equipment is new and constantly cleaned and sanitized. They're also currently in the process of expanding and we can't wait to see the new additions to the gym. All the coaches are legit studs and their knowledge is second to none. The head coach Alex is a UFC vet and his assistant coaches Dylan and Mike both double champs in their weight classes. If you're serious about training and getting in shape this is the place. We've been training at cage combat acadamy for the past 4 years and have no plans on stopping. I've lost 40 pounds my son has medaled at multiple tournaments and next year my daughter will be joining as well. All around we couldn't be happier we joined. As a mom, I feel deeply disappointed and misled by Cage Combat Academy. When we joined, we were made to believe in many opportunities for our kids to compete in tournaments and grow in their jiujitsu journey. My children waited patiently for years--FOUR years--holding onto those promises, but they turned out to be empty. The owner, Alex, is a gifted coach on the mat. But unfortunately, he was the very person who made false promises about growth and competition opportunities. When I showed up to one of these "intended" opportunities (that never materialized), he spoke to me in an aggressive and disrespectful way right in front of my children. I was shaken, I had respected him and the gym so much. I seen him hurt other families but I never thought he would come for us since we were so freaking loyal. My husband went back two days later to address it directly. He told Alex clearly: (1) Do not ever speak to my wife like that again, and (2) We finally see that the opportunities we were promised will never come, so after years of loyalty, we are leaving. Alex seemed way more respectful to my husband and even wanted to work things out. The reality is that Cage Combat only participates in a handful of very small tournaments each year--sometimes just 4 total--and most often there wasn't even competition in my kids' brackets because they were tiny unworthy tournaments. My children were ready for more, eager to grow, and deserved the chance to test themselves, but it was simply not allowed. After my husband spoke up, I had a meeting with Rosalie. That three-hour conversation was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life. She dominated the entire discussion with negativity, spoke poorly about nearly every one of my friends / members from the gym, and even made disparaging remarks about my daughter exploring another gym. Worst of all, after we decided to move on, she spread rumors about my 14-year-old daughter (and other teens) a girl who had given her whole heart, sweat, and loyalty to this gym. To hear from at least 20 different people that she was the subject of Rosalies gossip was beyond disgusting. I think she did it to try and save face& blame us for the falling out. But those that took a peak in to the truth seen through her scandalous ways. I texted Rosalie directly, asking her not to ever speak about my family again, but she continued and even escalated to salacious slander about other members!!!! It was beyond disgusting what she said and I wont dare mention it on the internet. I consulted an attorney over the situation and they agreed that Rosalie& Alex plus some of their staff (Jacky according to Rosalies statements) were in fact committing defamation. Ultimately, I chose to move forward and not look back at their cowardice ways. I enrolled my children at a new gym across the bridge. Since leaving, the opportunities have been absolutely incredible--far beyond what we were told was possible. I thank God for lifting the veil so my kids could have the opportunities and support they have now. Looking back, I realize I stayed too long because of misplaced loyalty and because I wanted to believe in them. But the truth is, this gym operates with a cult-like manipulation that blinds you until you finally step away. I can go on for hours of the many many incidences but I will just end saying to look at the facts; both Alex and Rosalie have very volatile relationships or zero relationships with our local likeminded community and their own families! I am writing this months later because I believe it may answer some questions that other members may be dealing with themselves. If that is you, you are not crazy and I hope this helps!!! My advice to other parents: if your children want real opportunities to grow, compete, and be supported in a healthy environment, look elsewhere. read more

My family was involved here for five years, during which we experienced numerous concerning issues with the owners and overall environment. The atmosphere has consistently been unprofessional. The owners, Alex and Rosalie, often spoke negatively about staff and members, creating division among families instead of fostering a supportive community. At times, it felt more like a "cult-like" environment than a positive place for children to train. One of the most troubling experiences was when Rosalie spread a harmful rumor about my family. When confronted, she shifted blame on members in the gym and changed her story multiple times rather than taking responsibility. We also experienced poor organization and dismissive behavior. Before a major tournament in Las Vegas, we repeatedly asked about the required uniforms, only to receive conflicting answers and delays. When we voiced concern about the timing, we were labeled as "throwing a fit" instead of receiving professional communication and support. As a parent, I was most disappointed in how my children were treated. When they began wrestling outside the gym to strengthen their skills and prepare for school sports, Alex would corner, bully and pressure my kids, making them feel guilty rather than encouraged. This kind of behavior has been harmful to my young athletes who should be supported in their growth. Skill advancement also appeared tied more to financial gain than true readiness. My children were promoted to yellow belts despite not being prepared, which became painfully clear in tournaments where they were put at risk. Not to mention, we could ONLY go to the tournaments the gym told us to go to, which was only about 4 small tournaments per year. Thus making brackets so small, my kids never had anyone to compete against, giving them lack of training experience. Safety and development should never take a back seat to profit. There were also frequent hidden costs, mandatory purchases, and obvious favoritism toward families who spent the most money. Those who did not were treated very differently. In addition, I had only boys train at this gym & I observed a lack of genuine support for female athletes, which was especially disappointing. Overall, the gym prioritized profit and control over professionalism, fairness, and the well-being of its students. Instead of feeling encouraged and inspired, my family often felt manipulated and discouraged. This is not what a martial arts community should represent. read more

I was 12 at the time and now I am 13 Absolutely Horrible Experience -- Unsafe and Full of Favoritism This place was a nightmare. They would constantly pair me with people four times my size -- grown kids who would literally sit on me until I couldn't breathe. I would tap over and over, but they wouldn't get off of me. My mom would have to step in and tell the coaches, "She's tapping, get them off of her!" and they would just ignore her. They didn't care at all about safety. There was so much favoritism that the rules didn't matter. Even after I begged them not to pair me with those same people, they kept doing it anyway. They said, "You have to learn if you're going to be in BJJ." I'm a child -- safety should come first! They even told my mom that private lessons would fix it. How are private lessons supposed to help me move someone four times my size off of me? That's not learning -- that's dangerous. One time, a girl put me in an arm bar right after I had just gotten my cast off. The coaches were watching. I tapped and she kept going -- and they still didn't stop her. They knew I was injured and told her to go easy, but they let it happen anyway. Alex and Rosalie made it worse. They were already spreading lies about my mom and dad, and it was obvious they told the coaches to look the other way whenever I was on the mat. This place does not care about kids, safety, or fairness. It's full of favoritism, lies, and negligence. If you care about your child's well-being, stay far away from this place. read more

Hands down the best place to train for kids and adults. Their trainers and receptionist are exceptional. They are very friendly and make it enjoyable for my son to train. We as a family love going to Cage Combat, it's definitely our home away from home. The gym is always top notch and I feel at ease taking my son knowing they take all the necessary precautions to keep the gym clean. My son's behavior has improved dramatically. Him knowing he can earn an "accountability" stripe to add to his belt every Wednesday really helps keep him on his best behavior. He looks up to his coaches and strives to be his best at all times. The positive reinforcement he gets from the coaches make his day. They correct him when needed but never in a mean way and I really appreciate that. My son completed in his very first wrestling tournament this year in San Diego. The tournament is called Naga and let me tell you the experience was amazing thanks to the coaches. They helped my son improve so much in his wrestling skills in such a short time that he placed 1st and 2nd in two different categories. Cage Combat also has boxing and Jiu Jitsu, which is also so much fun for not only my son, but also for us as parents to watch him advance in so many different skills each class teaches. Update 2018 3+ years now my son now 18 and still learning something new every time, he has lost close to 70lBs. We signed up one of our boys not knowing how he was going to like it. 3 years later and he is doing amazing. Not only had he learned the art of Jit-jitsu but he has been taught self control, self discipline, confidence, and respect. About a year into training he decided to do tournaments. He absolutely has a blast doing them. Coach always tells them to do their best and respect the opponent. Coach Alex has a very calm and respectful way when working with children. The smiles on the kids faces while they are in class lets you know how much they enjoy him. Coach Jeremy, Dylan, Scott, and Albert work amazing with the children as well. Don't even know where to begin, Cage Combat has been home to my family since Coach Alex has opened his doors to the High Desert. My 13 year old has been attending and has learned skills, technique, motivation and so much more. Coach Alex is an amamazing instructor. My very first experience in the woman's kickboxing class I thought to myself, is this legal, as the workout is pretty high intensity. Coach Alex does keep the women motivated as well as showing you the step by step instruction and explaining the benefit of each move. He also mixes up the workouts every night so your never bored doing the same thing all the time, like you might find elsewhere. I have always done some kind of workout since the age of 15 and here 30+ yrs later this by far is the absolutely best I've found. I've now moved out of state and certainly miss the cage. read more

BEWARE- THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL GYM. Thieves! Back in Feb a sales rep lied directly to me about pricing and service. I reached out to the owner for 3 consecutive days before getting a call back! In the meantime, I contacted Chase and filed a claim for fraud. I had never seen, signed a contract, or stepped foot into Cage Combat- all our dealing was over the phone while I was at work. THIS MORNING I woke up to HUNDREDS deducted from my checking account from CAGE COMBAT. I immediately called them- no answer- LVM. According to the hours on YELP AND FB they are open! LIARS AND THIEVES- My escalation team informed me, they tried to recollect from the original claim knowing they provided a forged signature. All of this is happening MONTHS after the owner called me to apologize and directly said, " I wish you would have come to me before filing a claim I would have cut you a check". I'm filing a complaint now with the FCC, Attorney General, BBB and every social media outlet(Yelp, Google, YP, etc) as a warning to others! DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE! read more

I was a little disappointed with the level of business profession here at Cage Combat. I was picking up my grandson after his session ( I only do this when his mother or father can not ) and I observed a lady, whom seemed to be a staff member, scolding and arguing with a kid quite loudly in the back of the facility. Now I'm not a business owner nor am I educated in the training of respect and discipline within Martial Arts, but found this incident to be very unprofessional and not in the best of means to help structure a child's foundation for discipline. And especially seeing a grown woman arguing with a child. I asked my daughter about the environment of this facility and my grandson always has a story to tell her of the problems in this place. He loves his classmates and his coach is always helping him improve and he is learning a lot. He has a great time every day that he practices. I'm just not sure this place is a good environment for my grandson but we are willing to observe and see if it gets any better. read more
