The coffeehouse is situated close to the König-Heinrich-Platz, hidden away in a small alley - I am pretty sure that I wouldn't have found it, had I not been directly looking for it. It is a small cafe with plenty of seats (indoors & outdoors), a tiny counter, its own roaster in the corner (yes, they do roast their own coffee beans!!!) and enough coffeehouse atmosphere to supply the entire city with it. It is quite obvious that the people here have a deep love for coffee - it's not just another "double-ccino-caramel-froth-something"-place, this is pure coffee made with love! And what happens when people add enough love, passion and knowledge to their product? You can taste the difference! Best café in Duisburg, if you ask me! However, it was literally the worst eating experience I have ever had. We made a reservation for 7 people for brunch. We sat down all was well, took about 15 minutes for someone to finally come to our table. We ordered our coffees and our dishes. Mine & my husbands dish came out, no silverware. No bread for the sliced meats. Then after 15 minutes two more dishes came. My sister in laws coffee came with her food because they forgot it. Then came our bread. Then after another 10 minutes two more dishes. Then.....after telling 3 different waitresses, my mother in law still didn't have her food. After we were all done, 25 minutes later, after going inside to talk to the manager, my mother in law got her food!!! When I told him about it he said yeah the waitresses came to your table multiple times, and we said yes and multiple times we told her we are missing a plate! For all this wait the food is mediocre. It's literally 11.90€ for a plate with 4 slices of sucuk, a few SMALL Gouda slices, 2 pieces of pasterma, and some random decor....for 12 euros?? No sorry, we will definitely go elsewhere for this price. And not even an I'm sorry, nothing. And one waitress even argued back, I'm sorry but the wait staff seemed poorly trained, the kitchen was running around all over each other freaking out, and nothing we ordered even needed to be cooked, it was just deli meats literally organized on a plate. If you want to wait for your food and eat with your party at different times then go here. It's really only just a place to get a good instagram picture...if that's what you're looking for. Ein Café voller Sarah und Dennis. "Wer ist das? Sarah und Dennis?" Tja, das sind wir. Schon lange ein Paar und das ganz dicke. So dicke, dass wir entschieden, 24 Stunden am Tag zusammen zu verbringen und zusammen arbeiten zu wollen. In unserem eigenen veganen Café. Es ist zu 100% so geworden, wie wir es uns wünschten; quasi so, wie wir uns ein schönes Café vorstellen. Mit alten Möbeln und alter Deko, wie etwa einem alten Piano, ollen Radios und uralten Familienfotos in schwarz/weiß. Mit gemütlichen Sesseln und Couchen, einem schönen Holzboden, Stuck an der Decke und so weiter. Es war klar, dass wir Platten auflegen und nicht einfach nur MP3s abspielen. Wir kochen und backen alles selbst, schenken leckeren, guten und fairen Kaffee aus, von einer lokalen Duisburger Rösterei. Wir verwenden so viele Bio-Produkte wie möglich. Nicht nur Bio-Obst und Gemüse sondern auch Backzutaten, Sojamilch, Kräuter, Mehl etc. Wir haben unsere Rezepte selbst entwickelt (also Sarah hauptsächlich), backen Brot und Burgerbrötchen selbst, haben alle Saucen erarbeitet und lange verfeinert, bis alles wie aus der Krümelküche schmeckte. Und da hört es nicht auf: jeden Tag erdenken wir uns neue Leckereien für unsere Kuchenvitrine oder für die Wochenkarte.
