Only in Normandy would you find yourself dining beside a plague cemetery dating back to 1348. My wife found it a little odd, but I thought it was a fantastic backdrop, especially from a window seat.
Making reservations was easy and handled in English over the phone. Our server was pleasant, though a touch abrupt when we asked if she spoke English. The restaurant itself was nicely appointed and had a good mix of French and American guests.
As for the food, the Normandy meat and cheese plate was the star of the evening and exactly what we needed after a long day of sightseeing. Highly recommend starting there. The candied French beef tail burger was divine. My wife ordered the Thai chicken burger, which was good but a bit unexciting by comparison, and she had some serious order envy by the end. The potatoes were scrumptious, and I took other reviewers' advice and ordered Gill's pastry of the day. Glad I did.
Overall a casual, comfortable, and very welcome end to a full day. Pure comfort food in the best way. Would recommend. read more
