What's great about it for me is the Gluten Free and Vegetarian options on Pizza and Pasta dishes, which is what they specialize in as an Italian restaurant. They also offer very nice salads and grilled vegetables. The food has always tasted great and the service, like the people in this country, is very nice :) They are fluent in English, but do not offer Menu written in English. The bisque had a little bit too strong truffle taste but overall the taste was good. The partridge was accompanied by yellow carrots and it had a very nice taste. The service was slow and I had to ask twice for an extra bottle of water. They served Badoit mineral water that we normally get in France only so that was a nice surprise. The wine selection was limited but the selection was good. I would come here again.

So, lets talk about service first. Eh, I don't know. Who comes to a great spot like this for…read moreservice anyway? In fact, please don't serve me. Just let me enjoy the beautiful and serene views sans interruptions. That said, the service is in fact a lot better than most other places that don't even have a view. Chilled tap water, too. Spending half a day at the waterfront is like going on a luxury vacation without spending cash on it. The seating is so comfortable, and when the weather is nice (which is the only time you'd probably go there, anyway) you could even catch some relaxed sleep. The menu options are not very diverse, in fact, if you're a vegetarian, there probably isn't much of anything for you to feed yourself with. The prices are sky high, but it's all very well worth it. They have live music at times. If you want a more contemporary setting, you could always venture out to Het Bosch's main restaurant and have a classy dinner there. The walk to get here is so nice that I always end up taking a lot of pictures. This is a hidden gem and I'd prefer it stayed that way!

Friendly service, heated outdoor seating, and free wifi (well, when it's working). They bring around great little snack trays (borrel hapjes) of local sausages, good cheeses and pickles, etc. The outside seems to attract some of the local shoppers (it's located at the Southern end of two main shopping streets) while the inside seems to be a mix of younger hipsters and older locals, all drinking in harmony. They have short menu, which I haven't tried, but if its like the free appetizers, it will be simple but wholesome fare. It's small, so I wouldn't recommend it for groups, but its definitely "gezellig" and the staff and owners clearly care about high quality food, drinks and service.

Why one star? Because a good dive bar should never get more than one…read more In the United States, this bar would be located in the sketchiest part of town inhabited by drunks who have scrapped together from their panhandling their $2.50 for a PBR. Then fell asleep in the corner only to awaken (hopefully) when they have to take a pee. We stopped by here because they had a lunch sign on the street corner. After walking in we immediately decided against consuming anything other than that which would have enough alcohol to kill any bugs that were on the glasses. Which is to say, none of this is bad. In fact, for a dive bar it fills all the requirements. Just know what you are getting yourself in for. Lots of local color. Lots of atmosphere. Lots of things that crawl in dark places. Stop here for a shot of alcohol then wander a half block north to Brasserie Blazer for an outstanding meal.
