I found Aniis by review referrals and I'm so glad I did. I had 24 hours to spend on a layover in…read moreFrankfurt and as a non-German speaker (but someone who usually tries to assimilate to where I am) I was nervous about my visit. It was obvious that I was traveling (I had my bags with me) but most of the staff was very gracious when I asked questions about what to order or how to pronounce things, which was very kind. My server went out of her way to check in and to make recommendations. The atmosphere itself is relaxing, cozy, and comfortable, but at the same time so alive with colors and art and interesting things to explore while you eat. There's seating indoors and a spacious sidewalk patio seating area. I ordered a cappuccino to drink and the Power Frühstrück to eat, which ended up being an amazing spread. It included a light omelet, a basket of fresh bread, jam, fruit, cheese, cream cheese, olives and an orange juice. It was plenty of food for a solid meal and was less than 15 euros. I also enjoyed the little touches (even if I couldn't read them!) on the menu about the business and the note from the owner. It all seemed very thoughtfully done. I would love to come back and explore more of the menu and spend a little bit more time enjoying myself in the space!

This place is consistently listed as one of the best places for coffee in Frankfurt. Came down from…read moreBockenheim to check it out one morning. The ambience inside is relaxed. It is more spacious than one would expect from the outside with about 8 toal tables. Good amount of space and separation between each table. Definitely less crammed than Bruhmarkt in Bockenheim which my normal go-to spot. I ordered the Ethiopian coffee (4,10 euro). It is on the expensive side (similar coffee is 3,90 euro as t Burhmarkt), but quality is very good. Free wifi, comfortable atmosphere and good coffee make this a place to spend more than a few hours relaxing.

The coffee was good but I was more impressed by the tasty pastries and freshly delivered baked bread. In particular, their banana bread and cardamom bun which was reminiscent of some of the best I had while in Copenhagen.

It is one of my favorite places for a good cup of coffee in this city. I also love buying their beans to take home and use for my home brews. They always offer a variety and are on top of the coffee scene and I really respect and appreciate that. I have to admit that I don't always like the coffee served here (not that it is bad, it is my personal preference with the beans), but what I do love is that it is ever-changing and you ALWAYS have options. I sometimes just opt for a roast I know I may not like to try it out. Sorry Amkeni :( The baristas are super knowledgeable and will always assist with any questions you may have. It is also awesome that they do the roasting on site. YES. I continue to go here any time I'm in this part of the city and always look forward to what they have to offer.

Hoppenworth & Ploch - Limited laptop use? Probably for peak hours so people don't spend hours there and other patrons can't sit.
