It was extremely busy when we arrived but we managed to snag a table for two outside. The tapas buffet selection was varied and interesting and included finger sandwiches, pastas, rice, pastries, and more. As an added bonus, they bring you a complimentary cheese pizza just make sure to ask for it. We only stayed for one cocktail each but mine was very delicious and packed a punch. The food was just good/ok. Nothing mindblowing in a country where mindblowing food can be found on every corner but worth a stop in for the money.

What a surprise it was for me to find, in this small Italian city, a quaint little place like this that serves American desserts! I was there on a Saturday afternoon and there were brownies, a carrot cake, cupcakes, fudge bars and chocolate chunk cookies among other things (there were a couple of sandwiches, Italian-style cookies, macaroons and chocolate lollipops). There are four or five tables and you can order coffee, cappuccinos and other drinks together with your desserts. The ambience and decor are simple but contemporary and the nice thing about this cafe' is that they chose to not fill it up with tables so there is plenty of space for its guests. I inquired and they occasionally hold some cake design courses too (consultable online on their website). The only disappointing thing was that the display seemed a bit empty for a Saturday afternoon. There was a bit of everything but somehow I got the feeling as if we had arrived late and there was little left. The chocolate chunk cookie we had was delicious, perfectly American. We didn't know where to get it, when we suddenly stumbled over this beautiful shop. The lady serving the ice cream took out every little bit of her English to make us feel comfortable. The shop has two seating areas with 6 tables each (with 2 chairs each) one at the street side one further into the shop, a little hidden from the entrance area. The second counter offers some pastries, which makes a perfect fit with the amazing ice cream. The girl behind the counter didn't know Yelp yet, but had a tripadvisor button near the cashier. If you happen to be in the area, you have to stop by, get some ice cream and maybe stroll to the city center, which is a little bit up the hill.

The staff were so sweet ! After telling them about a nut allergy I had they made me a special plate, which was really nice of them. That being said ... to other nut allergy people, be careful because a lot of their sweets have tree nuts, so always ask! Anyway, not only are their cakes great they are open really late, until midnight. I love finding places that are open late that offer Wifi! I will definitely be frequenting this spot often. Their website says that they are closed on Monday and open till 8pm on Tuesdays. I came one Thursday evening and they were closed, so I was kind of bummed out because I thought they were supposed to be open and there was no sign or explanation. I will come again to give it another try in the evening, for an after dinner dessert!
