FOOD & DRINKS This is the closest place we know for…read moreauthentic and great Chinese BBQ and with that I mean especially two items. The suckling pig and the Peking Duck. I once had the chance to be in their backyard and see how they prepare their meat. They actually roast them on open fire which requires a lot of skill and patience. Most of the items they offer are tasty and of good quality but I especially recommend to order the items I mentioned above and the Char Siu. Their Char Siu is sweet, savory, moist, juicy and glistening. Very delightful. The Peking Duck is good. I can't say it is mind blowing but it is definitely worth it. The pancakes they offer with the Peking Duck are like mini pillowy tacos. The suckling pig is just amazing. Very flavorful and very well seasoned. SERVICE We have been a customer for years and while we only visit the restaurant a few times throughout the year, we are usually been treated with care. So I can't really complain about the service but I wouldn't say its the best I've seen. ATMOSPHERE This is an old fashioned Chinese restaurant like you have seen them so many times over in Europe. At peak times I would recommend to reserve a table. They can be packed quite fast. RATING Five stars actually have crossed my mind a few times but for that I think the overall picture needs to step up. From the plating to a more welcoming and lovely service to a revamp of their place. We are already past those old fashioned and dark Chinese restaurants. That said I can't recommend them enough if you want to eat some yummy authentic Cantonese food.

They served delicious little snack crackers with the tea. Often these are shrimp crackers that leave a taste in your mouth like you've licked an old sea net. These were fresh and crisp with a little bit of heat. Not too much, just a nice flavor. The Vegetable Egg Foo Yong was also delicious. It was clearly cooked fresh with delicate vegetables that didn't overwhelm the omelet. I've had it from one other Chinese restaurant in Zwolle and the one I had here was far superior. It is served here in Holland with sweet sauce. That's initially a shock but in this case, the sauce was subtle and complimentary to the dish versus the other place where the omelet was just drowning in sticky goo. The fried rice was very good as well. Once again, subtle flavors of green onion and egg in the veggie version I requested. Overall, great experience.
