No frills kind of place, but from the decoration clearly lovers of coffee. They serve burgers for lunch and eggs for breakfast. The menu is small but good for quick bite. I had a cappuccino made with great care on a Arduino Black Eagle and it was absolutely delicious. They roast themselves which doesn't seem as popular an option in Europe as it is in Canada. I tried the Republika, which has a bit of confiture/jam in it, and it was oh-so-tasty. Thick hot dark chocolate with bits of fruit adding texture and a subtle hint of flavor. Definitely one to drink with the spoon. There are other options, including dessert cakes and pies, and ice cream. Bathrooms: Clean and functional. Fairly spacious.

This is one of the gems of Poznan and during the weekend you need to be lucky to get a table as most of the people will call ahead to reserve, even more if you are a group of more than 2. They have so many variety of hot chocolate drinks that you can come here a few times and still find new flavours. They also have coffee/ice cream/cakes etc but the speciality is hot chocolate (hence the name Cacao Republica). It is normal apartment changed into a cafe. The atmosphere is really nice with antique furnitures and random wall papers. I tried their sweet menus. Apple cobbler, the sensation of warm and cold was just perfect. The "dirty chai" I took was also new and interesting. Its chai latte with shot of esspresso! who woudlve thought of that! They also had other sweet stuff like warm scones and smore's and other so-called American sweets! I would love to try their other non-sweet menu as well because they had some food too. My dining companion also had a quiche which was feta, tomato, olive and Provençal herbs in a flaky puff pastry crust. We shared a cayenne pepper and plum tart for dessert (not spicy, but the heat enhances the sweetness of the plums). We all had tea, but I decided to be adventurous and get the chili and chocolate tea. This tea wasn't hot at all, but it did satisfy a sweet tooth without any added sugar. The quality of the food is consistent. All the locations are clean and bright and service is friendly. What else could you want?
