RS28 is a nice little cafe nearby the train station. It has a nice atmosphere and good coffee…read more However, do not expect to spend too much time there, because it is seen as "disrespectful" by the baristas. Let me explain. On a rainy day, my wife and I purchased two coffees and a panini, and decided to do some work at the cafe. To be respectful to the cafe and other customers, we made sure there was always an open table for other customers. During the two hours we spent at the cafe, there was always an open table - thus, we were never prohibiting any other customers from sitting down. Yet, despite this, after approximately two hours, the barista came over to our table and asked if we were going to purchase anything else. Our answer was no, not at the moment (we were planning to depart soon anyway). The barista's response was: "I am going to ask you to leave if you are not going to buy anything else." Confused, we replied: "But there are still open tables. Why must we leave the cafe?" The barista replied that we were being "disrespectful...for only purchasing two coffees and a panini" and that we must leave the cafe. So, we left and will not return, because we feel this is some of the worst customer service we have ever received at a cafe. In contrast to the baristas feelings toward us, we felt disrespected as paying customers. Perhaps it is different in Denmark - although not from our general experience in Aarhus and Copenhagen - but working in a cafe for two hours is not at all unreasonable in the USA. For example, in NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, DC, Seattle, San Francisco, Tucson, Portland, and Columbus (to name several cities in which we have experience with their cafe culture) working in a cafe for a couple of hours is a normal affair. This is especially the case if there are plenty of open tables. Bummer.
