Maybe a warmer vibe from the girl-workers could attract more people to come back, because nobody likes to feel dumb or silly for their questions about the menu . Update (Jan '20): We came back to give Cafe Sintra another chance today for lunch and we were thoroughly impressed by the improvement from our past experience. The service was much better this time and we felt taken care of by the staff. The jasmine fruit iced tea is still fresh tasting and refreshing. The food was also very good. I got the half sandwich half salad combo with the Rustica sandwich and fresh spinach salad. Both were fresh and tasted good. I recommend coming to Cafe Sintra while in Sunriver. 3 Star Review (Jan '19): We came back to Cafe Sintra a few days ago and while the food was still quite good, the service has gone a bit downhill. It seems strange that when you sit down they don't bring you a glass of water and you have to get it yourself even though it is a sit down restaurant. Also the hostess was unprofessional and fran kind of rude to us. When I ordered a full salad to be split between two people, the waiter clearly heard but brought out the salad on one plate without an extra plate even for us to split it ourselves. We had to ask for another plate and split it ourselves. I will keep all of this in mind when making restaurant plans for future visits to Sunriver. We had a delicious lunch at Cafe Sintra today. Great service coupled with great food made for an excellent experience. The fresh spinach salad was delicious and quite fresh. The Jasmine Iced Tea was very refreshing. Water & coffee is self-serve. Fantastic pastry selection! I got the Salmon Benedict, which they serve on some kind of bread instead of an English muffin. Was pretty good and I loved that their side of fruit wasn't the regular ole' strawberries, grapes, apples, pineapples, etc. Instead, there was grapefruit, peaches, blackberries, cherries, and more! Dined here twice on a recent trip. On first occasion we were looking forward to breakfast and arrived at 11:30. While waiting for host to take our name she changed the menu to a Lunch menu right in front of us. We were disappointed, But decided to stay for lunch and were glad we did. I had the 1/2 Prego sandwich with chowder. Both excellent. Only regret was not getting the full sandwich. Mimosas were great too. The breakfast looked so good we decided to return the following day And again were not disappointed. Tasty sausage and egg scramble was delish. Staff was very friendly and food served in timely and tasty fashion. Left with a bad taste in my mouth. Been coming here almost every morning before the gym. I call ahead and order for pick up because I'm riding my bike, and the past 3 visits have asked to sit inside and eat with no problems. This morning after paying $21 dollars for a small breakfast, I was told I may need to leave if they get busy by the woman with dreds. Super lame. There were only two other groups of patrons and at least 4 open tables when I arrived. Guess I'll go somewhere else in the future - if I spend that much on breakfast I expect decent customer service. Not worth it. The worst service I have ever received. Waitress was rude and didn't care about food allergies in the slightest so half of our group had to leave. Asked for gluten free salad and received bread on top. Bug in food waitress said "there are bugs everywhere" and was not apologetic about the bug or the cross contamination of the salad. We were seated the restaurant was clean and the our server was very pleasant. There is self service coffee and water, the coffee was dark with low acid it was very good. We ordered our breakfast everyone had something difficult. Prices are somewhat high for breakfast the best thing that was ordered was the triple yogurt. Homemade granola, fresh fruit and a bowl of vanilla yogurt $10+ My grandson ordered pancakes 3 pancakes the size of salad plates they came out cold and rubbery (possibly microwaved) they could not be cut with a fork. $10+ All egg dishes were Luke warm at best and were $15+ The pastries looked wonderful but that won't be enough to bring us back. read more

We were treated like they did not want us there and that our presence was an inconvenience. We LOVE Cafe Sinatra! Every time we come to Sunriver, we have to stop here for breakfast. The food is yummy and friendly service, too! They have a wide selection of Benedicts and plenty of vegetarian options which makes me so happy! I ordered the spinach Benedict and my son got the salmon. The salmon was lightly poached and really moist. My husband got the ham and Swiss omelette- hold the mushrooms. He's a plain kind of guy and it was nice the waiter happily obliged to his request. My daughter got the fruit and yogurt bowl. There was a wide array of fresh fruit on her plate and she gobbled it all up! The only downside to this cafe is that you have to get up and get your own water and coffee, which gives it a bit of a cafeteria style feel. But you order the tea, which was confusing. The tea bags are out by the coffee, but not the hot water. I asked someone who wasn't our waiter about the tea and she told me to order it from our waiter. I felt like I was getting scolded a bit for not knowing. Maybe there should be a sign. All in all, we love this place and will continue coming back year after year. read more

solid breakfast stop in the heart of sunriver! we've eaten here the past two days and have really enjoyed everything we've ordered. the omelet and egg scramble were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. we also ordered a 'side' of french toast which was two thick slices- plus, the fruit bowls were really unique with blackberries, pear, and pineapple, and all of the usual fruits! as far as drinks go, the lattes are amazing! extra shoutouts to the chai latte, fresh orange juice, and hot cocoa (which was amazing with a generous serving of whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and sprinkles). we will definitely be returning here at least one more time this week! finally, the cinnamon roll was insane!! it came out warm, dripping with icing, and was the size of an entire entree plate! definitely check this place out if you're in sunriver and looking for some good brunch. read more

This restaurant is a touch odd. The preparation is fantastic - eggs and poached salmon prepared perfectly every time, not to mention the potatoes and what appears to be homemade chunks of toasted bread in lieu of toast. Each individual food is cooked perfectly, and seasoned wonderfully. This leaves two problems: The first problem is that the dishes are not well conceptualized at all. Flavors clash and compete rather than working with one another - some dishes feel like a chef randomly chose from a list of "foods people like" and combined them without a thought to whether anyone would actually like them together. The second problem is the pricing. Now, I don't mind the range. 8 to 15 for a main dish at breakfast seems alright; a bit pricey, but this is a resort town. No, the problem is the lack of any reason to the numbers on the menu. A non refillable glass of cold brew will run you $7, while a tremendous fruit bowl of carefully selected and composed fruit is a mere $5. Half a filet of salmon is $2.50, but an omelette with nothing but olives cheese and herbs is $10.50 In summary, absolutely worth a visit, but stick to dishes you're familiar with, and don't be surprised by a strange (if not overly expensive) bill. read more

A wonderful dining experience in Sunriver. We had a great breakfast out on the patio. Our server was courteous and knowledgable about the menu. All of their breads, including the english muffins for the Benedicts, are baked in house. It was made on delicious, soft crust, the ingredients were indeed fresh and it was a flavor bomb in my mouth. Next day, we made sure to hit breakfast! I went with the Sintra Egg's Benedict - it was good, but the hollandaise sauce was just a bit off to be my favorite. The toast that comes with the meal is real bakery type bread! As a breakfast spot in a vacation community without any real competition, they could be be forgiven if they cut a few corners and made food that was simply "pretty good". The food was decent and the pastries looked good. I enjoyed my breakfast but wished I would have gotten better service for the price. I don't mind paying more for service. But pay first and then we will bring it to your table shouldn't be over $30 for two people to eat breakfast without any alcohol! Am I right or am I right? I had to get my own water in paper cups, the jam and butter were served out of those disposable peel off little containers. And I had to walk around and ask other tables if I could use their condiments and bring them back because there was nobody that came and checked on you or made sure you had the things you needed. It's awkward to stand in line with your milk cup and pay to get a refill and then go back and sit down at your table to finish your breakfast. If it would have been set up like a cafe and not a huge restaurant I wouldn't have minded that sort of service. But it makes you feel bad for the one girl that is ringing people, cleaning tables, and running food. She wasn't set up for success and then her tips suffer when she is the hardest worker there.
