There are many things I absolutely love about Western Europe. One of them is the amazing café culture you find all over. The Café Sapel in the quiet Kurort of Königsfeld elevates this culture to the level of art form.
This small café and Conditorrei has a 140 year history in the region. Having been owned and operated by the same family for 5 generations, this establishment preserves many of the old ways of café culture.
As far as the coffee is concerned, this place offers the best. Although you won't find much in the way of complicated or fancy drinks, their classics like cappoccino and lattes are wonderful. The "must have" of place though is any one of their fresh, homemade cakes of which I highly recommend the Schwarzwälder torte.
The atmosphere and service are elegant. The interior is stylishly decorated in the original 1920s decor of the current building. This is one of those rare places you are actually sad to leave. read more
