Location is great and you get to sit and enjoy the old town center. It's surrounded by pretty old buildings and interesting architecture. The town is an interesting old town located close to the Wörthersee and it was my first visit here.
Sunday's are never a great day to visit town centers in Central Europe as, there is no shopping and most attractions are closed. Having said that we wandered around the old city and found this place and decided to stop for a drink. Umbrellas line the streets of the old town and they are all hanging on lines strung between buildings. Luxembourg city was the first place I ever saw this and now have seen it in a handful of cities across Europe.
The menu is quite Italian and they have a whole choice of drinks and an ice cream counter. I had the eiskaffee and it was quite ok. A tad pricey at €12 for two drinks but the quality was ok. The ice cream had bits of ice in it and that was the one thing I did not like about this place. It suggests old ice cream or poor quality.
They have pizza and sandwiches and a few other bits and pieces on the menu. I would imagine it would be packed during the warmer months. A nice place for a drink or a meal and people watching in Klagenfurt. There are a few places in one line and they all sounded Italian ;-)) read more
