This cafe is located a bit outside of the center of Appenzell and definitely worth the walk. It is located on the other side of town as you walk towards the Appenzell factory. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I was wanting a great cappuccino and not just an espresso. Finding a great barista in Switzerland is not always easy. Here they know how make coffee drinks, and do it well. They also have a whole selection of amazing looking yummy treats to have with your coffee. This was a nice place to enjoy reading my book while having a cup of coffee and a sweet snack.

Cookies, pralines, tarts,cakes even salty goods. Specialties from of course Germany but also Australia and Switzerland. I personally like their fruit cakes the most, the berries still taste like berries , not drenched in sugar or cream, light in comparison to the cakes we are used to in the states. There is very little if any butter cream or icing used in Germany and that brings out the taste of the ingredients much fuller I have the feeling. Take out or sit down and enjoy right here with hot or cold drinks alcoholic or non alcoholic, beer and wine. They have a nice little porch to sit on and parking is close by. Make sure you try the seasonal specialties, being Christmas cookies, Easter eggs, Scherben and Berliner on Fasnacht! You can order cakes or else for special events and they wraps it up nicely for you. A must go when you are in Überlingen, go where the locals go!
