And the highest # of baristas per capita isn't here, but in Portland, 850 miles north of here. And sure, the only place in America that actually grows coffee is Hawaii. But San Francisco has roasted coffee for at least 10 years now, and there's probably about 10 coffee roasters in business by now. We're seriously making a mark in the world. Which is why I am truly honored that this business decided to name itself after San Francisco's historically significant industry. Salute, to you, my friends! Nice work in honoring a city that truly knows coffee.

We opted for a raspberry mouse tart this time (photo). It was very good IMHO. Of course, it was not too sweet in comparison to American pastries. I think I can safely say that across the board about European desserts. Some American cakes are cloyingly sweet as if Americans are obsessed with sugar. Perhaps there's some truth to it. European desserts tend to be more elegant, or should I say, they offer sweetness with certain restraint. It must be very difficult to live so close to these good if not great bakeries and confectionaries. I think I'll be coming here everyday if I lived close by to try all the goodies they offer.
