We are on a road trip to visit family and stopped in here for a quick lunch. The place was really busy and it was seat yourself so we opted for a table in the back corner. It was 11:30a. The waitress told us that there would be a party in the back room at 12:30, but she thought an hour was plenty of time for us to lunch at that table. Husband ordered the BLT (good but needed more, and thicker, bacon to be filling) and I had the grilled fish sandwich (good portion but a little bland). Our sides were the Cole slaw (yummy) and the sweet potato waffle fries (tasted great but they were not hot enough- temps were freezing so I think that's why) Service was excellent. Really cool breakfast stop less than a mile off the interstate. This restaurant is a refreshing take on regular breakfast options. Beautiful old building, great food, great service. Totally worth the stop while traveling through. read more

Took my mom and sister for supper here a few weeks ago. Really nice variety on the menu. I had fried chicken that was great, had to take quite a bit home given the portion size. My sis had a Cajun dish which she really liked and to my surprise mom ordered steak despite being a dainty eater. Something for everyone! Well, I've been back a couple of times since my first review 1 yr ago. After my last meal, it will be my last time visiting Cafe Grace. It seems they have a cook now, there is definitely not a Chef in the kitchen. For a six top with a variety of plates, every item was prepared poorly. First time here and so quaint. We seated ourselves and our waitress was super quick to get us out fresh coffee. I ordered the Meat Lovers Skillet and my wife had the blueberry French toast with a side of fried potatoes. My skillet was delicious but the fried potatoes really made the dish. Stopped in for lunch on a Friday. Quiet, cozy atmosphere. Small but sufficient menu - something for everyone and some out of the ordinary options. Prices comparable to other establishments. Delicious food. I was happy because Pepsi, cheese curds, sweet potato fries, and sourdough! Pop is canned so there is a charge for a "refill," but I didn't mind. Small gift shop area in entry and gorgeous tile floors in the restroom! Definitely worth a stop! And just a half block or so down from the pie place! read more

Somewhat expensive, but the service and food were incredible. The roast beef melted in our mouths and the apple bacon burger was a journey. I'm not normally a veggies person unless I cook it myself, but I ate all the green beans from my plate and my wife's. The also accommodated my wheel-chair confined grandpa. read more

Food is mid, service is okay, and the ambiance is fine. The only reason for rating this so low is because my whole family ended up getting food poisoning after eating their seafood. Also, it's very expensive for the quality of the food. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. read more

I could immediately tell the burgers were pre-made frozen burgers which was a definite disappointment. Then they apparently have no idea what salt it. The bacon jam was good but it was a mediocre experience all around. My gf liked her apple ham panini, but her fries came out after she had eaten half her sandwich. My side was the sprouts. They would have probably been good if they knew what salt and seasonings were. $14 for a burger made with inferior meat is just ridiculous. The Underground has real burgers for way less than that. I called about 1 and asked if we came in for lunch around 1:30 if we would have enough time since they close at 2? Whoever answered the phone was wonderful and told me that she would be there until 3 anyway, so it would be no problem at all! Yay for us! We both ordered the firecracker shrimp which was DELICIOUS, but my friend thought it was too spicy for her and told the waitress who immediately put in a new order with the sauce on the side and even let her take home her first order for her husband! We came into Princeton, IL on a holiday weekend and not many places were open. We were delighted to find out that a new member in town just opened this year and they had great reviews. AND they were open. We LOVED the atmosphere, the service was very good and we really enjoyed our time there. The menu had many great items on it and it was hard to choose! We went for the ravioli appetizer to start and it was yummy then had the Rib eye with scallops (which were seared and seasoned to perfection!). They also have a great wine menu and a full bar. My friend and I met for a weekday lunch. We ordered the special-chicken and biscuits. The food was only mediocre and lukewarm. There was one waitress for the restaurant and she seemed flustered and irritable. The best thing was the delicious cheesecake dessert we shared. Won't be returning anytime soon read more

Honestly super underwhelming. There was hardly any seasoning on either meal and the price killed it for us I felt like my pasta was missing something and was just kinda strange, my drink wasn't good, and the salmon and potatoes had no seasoning. My bf is still hungry and he ate half my dish on top of his own meal. Not trying to be mean but competition in Princeton is rough so I wanna make sure they have honest feedback so they can be successful :) good luck to you guys read more

We were there for dinner last night and were very impressed. The appetizers were very large portions and delicious. The dinner salad is the perfect size for a meal. The chicken Parmesan was excellent and enough for two people. We split the Carmel brownie and I'm pretty sure I dreamt about it last night it was that good. You definitely need to go. What a great addition to Princeton! And don't worry about parking. There is also parking in the back and just south of the restaurant is a parking lot. read more
