This was a seriously formidable pile of carbohydrates. There were even random food items lurking in the bottom of the pile; I can't remember what exactly, maybe a deep fried toast or something hiding under a slather of mushrooms and beans.

Bearing in mind that the place was not over busy, I can only guess that either the 4 staff there were preoccupied with other things, or they didn't know that providing clean tables is the sort of thing that customers like and projects an image of cleanliness and efficiency. In fact, it gave the place a seedy appearance. The management needs to grip it. I will not hurry back. The coffee in the nearby M&S is cheaper - and the tables are cleaned regularly.
