Need to mention teo important facts first: this restaurant is part of hotel Aplaus and its address is not shown correctly on Yelp - look for Santovo square, not Smetanovo. Meals were delicious, quality corresponding with premium price tags - the cook is apparently experienced. The waitresses are pleasant, but not as experienced. The venue - especially the tetrace - very nice. Overall, good experience, we'd probably come back when visiting.

There's an outdoor seating area, as well as an indoor, and plenty of restrooms. The staff there didn't speak English, and we couldn't read the Czech on the menu, but we didn't have too much difficulty asking for a vegetarian dish, tea, and coffee. They brought everything out pretty quickly too. I got the "Čevapčiči s hořčicí a cibulí, šťouchané", which translates as "Chewbacci with mustard and onion, mashed" according to Google. It was kind of a sausage made of ground beef on a bed of lettuce and onion and some mustard flavored mashed potatoes. It was delicious! My aunt had "Zeleninový salát s grilovaným camembertem a bylinkovým dresingem, pečivo" which translates to "Vegetable salad with grilled camembert and herb dressing, pastry" according to Google. This one was a lettuce and tomato salad with a dressing, topped with a fried Camembert cheese and some pieces of baguette on the side. My aunt said the only bad thing was that there was way too much dressing. Over all, it was a good lunch/rest stop experience! I only suggest you learn some basic Czech if you can

I don't know why the other rater gave just two stars, but we had a fantastic experience. The food was authentic and locally sourced Czech favorites, and they had one of the town's regional beers on tap. We sat on the large deck out front with blue skies and sunshine. The service was friendly, prompt, and offered us German language menus. The nearby town square was hosting a community concert, so we even had live music!

English not spoken here. Staff not helpful or friendly. Rooms are adequate. Our room was cleaned only once during our stay; and that took a lot of prompting and pleading on our part. We had to ask for clean towels, and toilet paper several times. Customer service skills are severely lacking. The location is its biggest asset, but with better friendly communication with guests, it can become so much better than it now is.
