This was my first time at the location and the food was amazing. I meant to take another picture of the inside, but after the first bike it was over. The area outside is extremely well kept and the inside is Just as clean. The service was immaculate, both gentlemen running the store Today were extremely attentive, friendly and accommodating. Super tasty Acai bowl! They use Acai roots which is delicious, but they have a good portion size. You can choose a good amount of fruits and toppings, but since I didn't get fruits, he gave me a discount. It seemed like they actually care about the customers having a good experience. It's not the fastest service, but it is prepared with care! Great choice.

Upon arrival I was greeted, I came around 8pm the gentleman at the register was very informative and patient with me since it was my first time here! I will say absolutely delicious and friendly service will be coming back for sure! He gave me a creme puff sample and chefs kiss absolutely delicious thank you!! Oh yuck. I ordered a lemon mint and it's just ice with a lime in it put in a blender, and not well blended.

i've came here some times before and i've gotten the acai bowls and it's one of the few places i love getting acai bowls from. this time i was craving a crepe and i ordered the kinder nutella crepe, the crepe was stuffed generously and very delicious. the staff are very nice and willing to explain their menu if you have any questions. i also like how they offer seating inside and outside. overall whenever i'm in the area i definitely make an effort to come and enjoy a sweet treat :))

I went to this place cause I saw they have kunefe the Turkisk dessert but they didn't have it when I was there. They told me to sold out fast . Açaí bowl is good. You can customize your bowl or choose the one they have. I love the one I ordered. I ordered mine without banana and I saw in the menu that there are blueberries but when I take home, I didn't see the blueberries. That's the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. If they run out, they should have let me know and I'm okay with it. Inside is nice, small. I like that they have the sand to do the Turkish coffee. So cool.

Had to try this place out it's a hidden gem. They have healthy açaí bowels and shakes, juices, and sweet crepes. The place is clean and cute vibe. Music was great and the service 5 stars.. I ordered the Nutella crepe which was made with strawberries and bananas. They even give you a small scoop of vanilla ice cream... Great size to share and price was very fair.This was the best crepe I have ever had .... A must have.. Check them out.

This review is specifically for the Açaí bowl, which was not good. The staff was super friendly and the prices are fair. The açaí bowl unfortunately was not good :/ they put way too much honey in the bowl and it clumps into the cold açaí so you chew into a honey ball. The açaí it's self isn't good, and the fruits were mediocre. Some had flavor and some pieces didn't. I only have it 3 star bc the staff was so good. read more

Nice spot to go to for desserts in El Cajon. Decently priced. We ordered the kinder nutella crepe which came with a scoop of ice cream. Nice touch for balancing the sweetness of the crepe. Okay this place is amazing! I have to admit I was having some doubts- but I took one bite of the classic crepe and the slowly diminished. The crepe was a strawberry banana with Nutella. I topped it off with whipped cream. The crepe melts in your mouth and have the perfect balance not too sweet just perfect! Cafe 88 has been amazing over the past few weeks. Best Açaí in East County Forsure. They load you up on the bowls, staff is always happy to serve my friends and I, and they keep the line moving while serving up some top notch bowls. Haven't tried the smoothies or mojitos but plan to soon. Their bowls really hit the spot and all the ingredients are fresh. They don't skimp on anything and when you ask for extra PB or honey they load it up. Great to see this! Support your local shop and get some good stuff for a good price. Think the bowls come to $7.50-$8.50. Also have a yelp check in for a dollar off. read more

They were really nice and quick and even though we called literally five minutes before they closed they still picked up the phone and waited till we got there which was 10 minutes passed there closing time. We got the variety cream puffs and let me tell you, the lotus ones were my favorite, and the other Nutella ones with pistachio, the third one is okay not a fan but that's not a problem because they are really sweet and said you can mix them up and get the favor you like or change one out for another flavor. Also we had ordered the crepe which tbh I really am not a fan of but actually really likes it, and it also came with vanilla ice cream. Lastly we got lucky and I guess someone didn't pick up there order so they offered us a the extras and we got this awesome burrito looking thing that was out of this world. This place is still new but so far it's been nothing but great, and really left me impressed how delicious, organized and accommodating they were. Shot out to the friendly staff who hooked us up and the sweet mom working there who took care of us. read more

I ordered two açaí bowls today from this business via yelp and grub hub because the business shows "open" and after submitting the order it showed that it was being prepared and will be ready for pick up. My husband went to pick up our food and no one was there, the business was closed. The troubling part is that my husband's debit card was still charged for the order, but Grubhub customer service said they had no record of the order on his or my account. His debit card statement says otherwise. We were so excited to try the food here, and understand that COVID19 presents challenges for small businesses, but hopefully Cafe88 and Grubhub get on the same page with each other and figure this issue out. I'm hoping that we are able to get reimbursed for our order that was never fulfilled. I'm sure the food is great and this is all in error, but until this issue is resolved, buyer beware. read more

I tried the nutella kinder crepe. I honestly didn't like the chocolate topping. I thought it was too sweet to my liking. The crepe itself and the fresh fruits inside tasted amazing, it's just the chocolate sauce on top that I didn't like. I also hoped to see drizzles of nutella sauce on top instead of the milk chocolate. I would only suggest that you add nutella sauce ( not a lot) on top and not the milk chocolate. The cashier gave me an oreo shake sample. I did like it but I feel like if you add more crushed oreo cookies and 1 teaspoon or maybe a tablespoon of black cocoa powder (on amazon), it will enhance that cookies and cream flavor cause I could barely taste any in the sample. I'm giving 5 stars for freshness, cleanliness, and great customer service. read more

I rarely leave bad reviews, but my experience at Café 88 was extremely disappointing. The service was slow and inattentive--even though the place wasn't busy, I waited nearly 20 minutes just to place an order. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and bland, definitely not worth the price. The coffee tasted burnt, and the staff seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than helping customers. I expected a cozy, welcoming vibe but left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. Before Cafe 88 was established, I would buy my açaí bowls from another place which are nothing compared to the best açaí bowls I've ever had from Cafe 88. All of their food items such as their smoothies and desserts are absolutely amazing. I've been coming here since they opened and the customer service has always been excellent. I highly recommend coming here and grabbing an açaí bowl or any other food item which you will very much enjoy and want to come back for more! read more

Service is very slow. Even if you order ahead they won't make your food until you get there. There were three people working only one was making the bowls one at a time while the other two were cleaning... the place is clean no doubt about that, but will that matter if costumers stop coming in? This has already happened two times, so I figured I needed to let other people know. XOXO fruits down the road are much quicker, maybe give that a try read more

If you ever want a good desserts or drinks you should come here. The classical crepe is really good and it tastes really good. They make it fresh every time and it does not take long at all. The customer service is really good and the workers are super friendly, they ask if the food was good and they are not rude. I recommend Cafe 88 to anyone looking for a good dessert or smoothie at a cheap price! Very affordable and good! Thank you very much! read more

The best açaí in all of San Diego. I have personally explored every açaí location in San Diego, but this place is top notch!!! The açaí is outstanding, and they always use fresh fruits. Their product is always consistent and therefore is always a rewarding visit. Excellent and friendly service which is a plus. Overall.......simply excellent. read more

This cafe literally has the absolute best customer service. I usually feel nervous trying new things but the minute I walked in, I felt at home. I love the smoothies. My all time favorite has to be the strawberry banana smoothie because I love strawberries very much!!!! And I love the Nutella shake!!!! 10/10 recommend!!! read more

When I ordered The Lit Bowl and Happy Bowl, they were both delicious! I even saved some for the next day for breakfast and they were still amazing! I am also so happy when I found out my Grandma, who can't have a lot of things, can eat these fabulous Açaí Bowls!!! A+!!! read more

This is one of the best dessert cafe I have ever been to. They have a wide variety of desserts that no other place has in El Cajon. One I strongly recommend is the classic crepe which is one of a kind. Overall my experience was a 10/10 and I would come back. read more
