Beef yakisoba and BBQ pork bun
Ted L.

So for reference I have personally worked at Japanese and Vietnamese / Chinese restraunts. Also we had ordered the BBQ pork buns Vietnamese sandwich beef , beef yakisoba and a crunchy tempura roll. ( I am Vietnamese/ Chinese myself so I'm taking this personally.) The service was about what one would expect from a normal Asian restraunt a little ignored but with lots of smiles. My server Eric no complaints about the guy. Ambiance I mean what more can one ask for it's a quaint location with very limited seating but it's okay. Small group of friends or a very personal date night is probably best for this place . The pork buns , not terrible if you've never had them before which a tad on the chewier side but chef Mike is a really fast guy, part of me wishes they would have at least steamed them a bit to keep the fluffiness. The sushi wasn't bad the spicy tuna they use has a decent kick to it and the eel sauce they used on top helps cut it a bit. The ( it personally pains me to even call it this, but this is what they called it ) "Vietnamese sandwich " which I got beef and the beef wasn't horrible good flavor , could have tenderized it more but I might be getting overly critical. But I'm sorry when has a "Vietnamese sandwich " ever come on sandwich bread , it tasted okay, but still honestly wondering why it's called a Vietnamese sandwich. A Vietnamese sandwich is made with French bread (toasted) with picked daikon and carrots , vietnamese mayo a touch of soysauce and cilantro sometimes If you are feeling festive get it with a jalapeno and a fried egg and you would have absolute bliss. What I received was nowhere in the neighborhood of Vietnamese slightly bordering on concept art and cultural appropriating with nothing inspired from vietnam , I received a honestly really confusing sandwich lettuce tomato cucumber duck sauce and mayo ... On toast ... Honestly really confused about the usage of duck sauce on the sandwich, it didn't taste bad but it's not what should be called a Vietnamese sandwich. And beef yakisoba... Indo mie brand or maybe mi go rang brand instant noodles... And it's supposed to be stir fried together not layered on top. Again beef wasn't bad honestly one of the best parts in my opinion.

Supposed to be 2 orders of pho ramen and 3 shrimp tempura rolls... $90...

If you order delivery, they give you a quarter of what you would get when dining in. We paid $90 for this absolute abomination of a meal. Enough for 1 person at best. Don't bother. You would be better off eating gas station sushi.

Amazing food I come every chance when downtown, the food is nice! The service is great and they will help with what you need and the bubble tea is good! I recommend the honeydew boba and matcha!

Cafe 168

Service is amazing. Nothing but smiles as we walked in. Constant checking in but very politely. We ordered two Spicy Beef Yakisoba, an order of Chicken Fried Dumplings, and a Thai Iced Tea. Everything was so flavorful and filling. The place is a bit small but has a lot of character. The wait was definitely worth it, but if you can't eat in order to go. Best Asian food in Rifle, would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Chicken fried dumplings were excellent!

We visited last night for early dinner. The service was quick and the waiter was very nice. Food was excellent. I ordered the chicken fried dumpling, the Rifle roll and a bowl of Pho. Everything came out quick and we had a great dinner. Thanks!

Super friendly and fast. The food is delicious! And bonus, if you need a vegetarian option, they will sub tofu for the meat in their dishes.

It looks creative in a way that they combine two different cuisines and cultures (Vietnamese and Japanese to say it exact) and yet what they came up with is nothing but a tourist trap place that lacks authenticity. It's on the second floor of a building. The restaurant is clean and spacious with ample tables and chairs. Since we were there well outside of the busy lunch hour, we got the employees' undue attention. And they were quite welcoming and friendly. The food? Meh. Everything we got lacked the true authenticity. -Lunch Nigiri: The four nigiris simply didn't look fresh. Fortunately however, they didn't taste bad. And yet the overall quality was mediocre at best. This combo plate came with a salad and a soup (called Japanese soup). The salad was the worst out of all where it looked and tasted old and stale. And the soup? It wasn't a miso soup. It's a clear broth soup. But my question was, "What's Japanese about it anyway?" -Agedashi tofu: They really need to work on the "presentation" more. This skimpy looking dish simply didn't look good. It surprisingly didn't taste bad but it failed to impress us. Another mediocre dish. -Thai tea with boba: My daughter didn't care for it at all. I took a sip of it. It tasted a bit too bitter where the tea appeared to have been over-brewed. Yikes! The three stars might be a bit too much of an inflated assessment. And yet I appreciated the friendliness of the employees so 1 additional star is the manifestation of my sincere gratitude to them.

I am normally a red sauce eater but the green (probably the weak Sendy) was really good. Not spicy but full of flavor. Service was excellent again. 1st visit: I've been in Colorado for nearly two weeks and this has probably been the best meal I've had so far, even after dining in Aspen (Clark's, Aspen Public House) and Boulder (Flagstaff, the Kitchen American Bistro). I love chorizo tacos and the ones here served with potatoes and fried egg with a side of chips and salsa was one of the best I've ever had and I think that's says a lot after living a lifetime in Texas. The hot dog was flavorful and probably a foot long. It was served with lightly salted french fries that reminded me if the ones my mom used to make me. The Bloody Mary was also very good and slightly spicy although it was only garnished with a lime and no olives. The place is very small, seats maybe a couple of dozen indoors but there is also outdoor seating. Service was very friendly.

I'd rather hit up Costco/sams club hot dog. Fresh cut fries are nice. They should be boiling or grilling the dogs.

In honesty, I'm giving it one more star simply because eating there, the service was the additional star. The pad see ew is adequate, with enough seasoning to remind you of the classic dish, though it doesn't quite stand out. There is no spice to the dish; the chili crisp upon request was more salty tha spicy. The wonton soup and wonton noodle soup are comforting choices--especially on a cold day--but the flavors could use a bit more depth. It really tasted a little lack luster; more on the sweet side. They also offer boba drinks, though these appear to be powder-based rather than freshly brewed. There are several fried rice options to choose from, which adds some variety to the menu. Seating is limited, so it's better suited for takeout or a quick meal. Overall, a serviceable spot that satisfies a Thai food craving when in a pinch, but not one that feels especially memorable.

Really lacked flavor and I'd say quantity of food + flavor + price warranted it a 3. We paid with tip, roughly $32 for Pad Se Ew Thai....They charge $5 for tofu. Was surprised that the dish cost $19 with no meat or tofu, but granted it is Aspen/Snowmass so I get it, but once you added in the tofu and tip came out to $32. Presentation of the food, actually looked great! Server was helpful. Potentially could have better flavor on other dishes, but I'd still think 32 for one entree is pretty pricey.

We split a cashew brownie with banana ice cream at the end. From start to finish, the meal was amazing. Every single piece was packed with flavor. The chicken was crispy, the sauce was spicy but not too spicy. The rice on the side was coconuty, creamy, and dreamy. The document slaw had a nice vinegar-y bite to complement the rest of the plate. My friend said the laksa with shrimp was the best she's ever had. The brownie was warm and crisp on the outside, but gooey in the middle.
