A lovely little coffee shop + cafe situated in the center of Golden CO. Very close to the pay to park parking lot, so that was very convenient! I ordered a Blackberry Bellini, a sticky bun, and a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito since Tuesday's the kitchen is close - FYI. The food here is so good and the portions and prices are fabulous. There's a large amount of sitting inside and outside and the staff brings the food to you instead of getting it yourself. The time for waiting on food was 25-30 minutes but I got it in less than 15. If I was a millionaire I'd eat here every morning just to try everything they have to offer! read more

I've been coming to cafe 13 for a while and I always enjoy their coffee and pastries. They also have a great patio right in downtown golden which really can't be beat. Unfortunately this place seems incapable of figuring out how to prevent their line from backing up to unreasonable levels, even on weekday late mornings. This may sound like a minor complaint but waiting for at least 15 minutes to get a cup of drip coffee gets old. They also have a window offering just drinks and baked goods, which is normally faster. However when I tried to order there today I was told they were too short staffed to help me. So I waited in line for 15 minutes inside, during which time they started serving other customers at the window! Sadly this place just seems slightly mismanaged. read more

Great atmosphere, the workers were VERY friendly and kind--also got me cackling by cracking up jokes. I'm not from the area, but I'd die to have all the cafes in CA to have the same vibes as Cafe 13. I definitely recommend this place for a quick stop, and it was probably the only cafe I visited on my trip (around Golden) that offered Vegan/Vegetarian options for breakfast options. My drop coffee was good, but not the best I've ever had, though my husbands latte was great. My one qualm is that it does not make for a good work space as you are only allowed 1 hour to dine-in. Stopped in here on a Saturday around 10am and it was definitely busy! There is a ton of seating both inside and out. The building and its history are pretty cool! The inside is decorated nicely and it felt bright and spacious. The counter of baked goods is quite the sight to see! I couldn't pass up the MASSIVE sticky bun. I also ordered the sunrise sandwich which is a basic BEC on a plain bagel. I asked for both to go. They gave me the sticky bun immediately and took my name for the sandwich. No lie, the wait for the bagel was 25 minutes. I think that's the longest I've waited for a breakfast sandwich and I was a little disappointed when I finally got to eat it. It was pretty greasy and honestly just average. There wasn't anything bad about it, but nothing to write home about either. I'm sure I'll forget I even had it, by tomorrow lol! The staff is SO FRIENDLY and they seem to have a really great interworking relationship. i like that they have "theme" rooms and it makes me want to come back to sit in the other areas. the main entrance is well lit, clean, and inviting. i was super impressed with my vegan burrito. it was so much larger than expected and dressed to perfection! my friend had the loaded avocado toast which was more filling than she expected as well! Their latte sizes are a bit small, but they're packed full of flavor. The pastries were good, but not the best I've had. That being said, I love the lack of food waste by selling day old pastries at 50% cost. A buck for them, but still giving the customers a (transparent) discount. The go-to cafe in Golden. The bagel sandwiches are RIDICULOUS and the coffee/tea are equally delicious. The avocado toast is loaded with veggies, and don't forget an egg. Be sure to taste all the different hot sauces, they've got a lot. The restaurant is perfect for doing work, and tucked behind the Cafe is also a shared work space. Great vintage Interior Design, outstandly good food BUT: Waiters & Waitresses were rude, arrogant Teens. No smiles, no friendly words, eye rolling when we asked friendly for silver ware. They are all (without any exception within the team working right now) running around frowning and letting the guests see and feel, that none of them enjoys working. I really don't want to tip them for such a frowny experience. As I am currently in the immigration process, I can say, this is not very American and very disappointing. Very depressive vibes transmitted and probably one of the worst services I experienced in America, since the Teens made us feel not welcome. Nevertheless, the vintage Art Deco Design is beyond wonderful, the portions are huge and the food is incredibly good. Also, right after my complaint, the management reached out to me, apologized and asked for further details, so they really do care and want their guests to have a great experience. She told us fairly casually that the menu needs to be 'updated'. They had an awesome selection of baked goods that you could snack on before your breakfast came out as well as many drink options. We ordered the breakfast burrito and a breakfast sandwich and we're very pleased with both of them. Went here for breakfast when we were visiting Golden, CO. Had a decent experience but in my gf and I's opinion the food was mediocre. It sounded really cool on the menu's but it didn't live up to our expectations. We ordered the Aussie scramble and the Tex Mex scramble. Both were okay and did nothing to stand out on our pallets. We also ordered mimosas one being the garden mimosa and it was good. The views of Golden was prob our favorite part of this visit and also the pumpkin spice latte my gf got was pretty good. Worth a try but didn't knock our socks off is all I'm saying. Oh I remembered one more thing. The jam that I got with my Tex Mex scramble was insanely good. Like addicting and I wanted 3 more jars. Before tip it was $42!! We were shocked at how overly expensive this place was for a cafe. Granted the food was really good but I have a hard time agreeing with their pricing. It took about 20 minutes to get our food, so we sipped on our drinks while we waited. The mimosa was ok, much more oj than anything. My fiancé thought the bloody was ok as well- nothing special. There are a bunch of hot sauces inside which is a nice touch. In the midst of reopening during covid, I did feel like it was a little crowded in the patio area. There were several rooms to choose from inside and they had nice outdoor seating also. We had a stick bun and cinnamon roll. I liked the sticky bun better. They were both good. This is a very cute little café with good breakfast options. They're green chili is kind of weird to be honest. They said it was hot but it came out more like green chili stew/posole. I got the breakfast burrito and it was really good. They have tons of breakfast cocktails is well with a lot of different mimosas and a very good Irish coffee. Then we followed than with an Aussie Scramble and a vegan hash. This is a popular cafe and there's a chance there will be a line.
